BearKat Brewing Co. (@bearkatbrewing) is just about ready to open. These photos make my mouth water. Super stoked for Kat and Shawn, and love how they have utilized the brand I helped them create. More pics of signage and merch coming soon.

Thrilled to share my latest branding and logo design for BearKat Brewing Co.! The name comes from the owners last names (Bayer Katsis). The timeless, hyper-personalized logo for their brewery, which is opening this fall in Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley.

All the fun, but only a fraction of the sugar. This label design was created for @cap5co who blends the perfect margarita mix with muddled lime and orange, a touch of honey, with only 5g of sugar.

Early branding and identity work for an independent sawyer, Pleasant Creek Hardwoods. PCH mills old-growth trees that were taken down by the 2020 derecho that hit Iowa and Nebraska.

Work in progress for a local hockey team. Having fun working in little lightning bolts. It's been a few years since I have created a mascot-style illustration. More to come...

Throwback logo. This brand was created for Roundhouse Spirits. The typography and mark draw inspiration from the same vintage era as the railroad turntables that inspired the brand’s name, creating a thoughtful connection to its roots.

Following the design of the @epicpass logo for @vail_resorts in collaboration with another designer, this promo was designed to resemble the season pass and unfold like a ski map to showcase details for the inaugural season.

Infographic meets retail! This wall graphic for Cheese + Provisions not only educated visitors about the many types of cheese but also guided them in creating the perfect pairing platter. A fun and functional win-win for this retailer!

Logo design for Big Trout Brewing in Winter Park, CO. The owners were avid fly fishermen and brown trout was their favorite catch. Stop in for a beer if you are skiing Winter Park this season. They are located right on main street. You'll see the sign.

Tap handle designs for Iowa-based Backpocket Brewing. Backpocket stands for your go-to item you would never go without. These wood taps were created with the pocket logo on top, and bright fronts that could be clearly read from across bar.

I also only recommend 3-5 concepts. Fewer than 3 and client is limited by choice. More than 5 and it means designer hasn't done their homework and are just throwing random ideas out.
No variations, each is a unique concept, very targeted to their story/audience. That helps narrow-down revisions.
No prob! Depends on the size of the review committee. If they have a board, it often requires more revisions. If the deciding committee is a couple of co-owners, three is a good start. I usually assume there will be 1 round w/ major revisions, 1-2 with medium complex., and 1-2 very minor tweaks.
Reflecting back to 2009, this design for mandolin headstock inlays was crafted for Eastman Strings' MD915 and 815 models. This design pays homage to the traditional Gibson mandolin flowerpot motif, incorporating the 'E' from the Eastman logo.

Love it!
That said, I never limit a client to revisions since I want them to love the work, but in the end, generally charge for them one way or another in a fair way.
I build a little buffer into my fixed rate projects so I can go over without losing money, and my clients always seem appreciative when I do not bill for an extra change or two.
I tried to only go out of scope if the client changes direction after kicking off the project and work being completed.
Fixed-rate logos and such I estimate 3, but do not bill for minor tweaks for an extra round or two.
For more long-form annual reports, as many as the client wants but billed hourly.
Clients return when they don’t feel forced into limited revisions and have no regress about the final product.
