Food insecurity is also likely to escalate disordered eating patterns among marginalized groups, as my first longform story was about how oppression factors into mainstream treatment for eating disorders, so this will cost BIPOC LGBTQIA+ disabled lives in particular: prismreports.org/2023/09/13/b...

Wooo go Ellen! 😊👏🙌
🥺 I received official notice that my NIH grant, "Early Characterization of Cognitive Status & AD Risk in African American Men," has been terminated. I have no clue how to process the news. Nonetheless, I remain committed to this line of inquiry & advancing research on Black men’s brain health.
An amazing meeting earlier this year with a wonderful foundation doing incredible work in the area of youth mental health! Very grateful for @klingensteinorg.bsky.social funding to develop and test a scalable digital tool to prevent #eatingdisorders and address comorbidities in youth!
Thank you so much Aggie!

"Grants are getting killed “without any scientific input anywhere. It is purely political,” said a member of a senior NIH leadership team. “The science in this country is going to be destroyed if you can change what the priorities are going to be every four years. You can’t do science that way.”"
