I really want a country band to cover the Blue's Clues theme song. It would be such a treat during a live set.

Tonight I'm playing with mr Chris Acker and The Montvales at the Beachland Tavern here in beautiful Cleveland Ohio. Chris puts on a great show and I am such a huge fan of him and his music.
Welcome To Dollar Country the doco about DC had it's premier last night and it went very well. Thanks to all who came out! It filled me with joy to hear a theater full of people laugh at the silly things I sometimes say, I'm used to recording in a basement and don't get to hear that kind of stuff.
Now that's how you advertise a country band with prime rib & crab leg buffet

There were no engineers who survived, but there were a few Firemen and Trimmer who made it and their stories are very interesting. Being in the belly of the ship when it was all happening must have been wild.
Frederick Barrett was Leading Fireman

Boxall was sent in lifeboat 2 to reach the other ship they could see on the horizon. He was the first person to reach the Carpathia and informed them that the Titanic was gone. When he died in 1967 he asked to have his ashes spread on the spot the Titanic sank in the north Atlantic.
My mom has been in the Titanic Historical Society since before I was born, she would want me to tell you that tonight at 11:40pm EST 114 years ago the Titanic hit an iceberg.
My favorite piece of Titanic history is this audio of Fourth Officer Boxall telling his story.

Also if there's a film fest near you and you wanna see it you can hit up the folks there and ask. We've submitted to the Oak Cliff fest in Dallas, but otherwise some film festivals will ask to show things that didn't get submitted.
Tomorrow (!) is the world premier of Welcome to Dollar Country at the Cleveland International Film Festival.
It is playing in the Local Heroes Shorts program (www.clevelandfilm.org/screenings/l...)
Afterwards we invite you to Becky's for drinks and chatting as an after party.

It's true, I could help repopulate the world with much needed old radio plays.
I'm not sure, I'll have to look into it. There is very little info on the discs but my copies all look nearly pristine, so there might be some value in trying to add upgrades. The discs are blank except for the date and title written in white wax pen in the middle.
The exciting ending to my long story about trying to buy acetates from a guy is that I didn't need to buy them! But honestly going to meet people and dig for records in an attic is pretty fun for me so I guess I'll always have the memories.
Now that I have all of the instantaneous discs he had, I've discovered that they are all episodes of the Railroad Hour radio show, which are all well documented on archive.org already, so in the end it was all for naught.

I have come to the decision that all 78s should be kept as close to the earth as possible. No attic should have 78s.
I have returned from an attic full of 78s. Pictured are the "organized" stacks. Dude was nice just has had a rough run, but I found him to be honest and talkative. I came home with a crate and a half of stuff, including dozens of episodes of the Railroad Hour radio show on acetate.
Here's what I've been digitizing today.
This is one song from a stack of 15 homemade discs I've called the Bristol Discs. Most (or maybe all) of them are this family singing vocal gospel songs.

Now he has told me our deal is back on, and is saying that if I don't come get them soon he's just going to throw them away. This has been a very confusing situation and I just want it to be over but I also want to save the discs if I can.
Solid Ween set with Andrew Weiss on bass.

I got this excellent breakfast down the road from me this morning. As I was paying I noticed a doordash order waiting on the counter for 6 chili dogs. This was 9 am.
I picked up this vintage hi-fi turntable this week. My plan is to use it for digitizing good conditioned microgroove LPs.
This is the first time I've ever had a nice turntable like this outside of Technics 1200s for DJ stuff.

It's all good. It seems like they're having some sort of problem with accounts in general over there. I appreciate you trying.

Do any of you nerds have a vinylengine.com account?
I'm looking for a manual for a turntable I just purchased and they are not registering new accounts at the moment.
One week from today the Dollar Country documentary Welcome To Dollar Country is having it's world premier at the Cleveland International Film Festival!

I'm really gonna test the NTS listeners this week with a show of ALL country gospel. In honor of jesus becoming a zombie yesterday I thought I'd do a show of all gospel songs about dying.
I really like the barn cam
