“Oh ChatGPT, create an image of a typical British diplomat in 2024” — big on the flags, Tom Cruise lookalike and James Bond tailoring….definitely more “artificial” than “reality” I can confirm.

For something different, the Schumann Violin Concerto is well worth a go in my opinion. The second movement a gem.

I think studying the Haydn Trumpet Concerto in my teens put me off for life. But will give it another go. I struggled with Bruckner and Wagner for years too. Happily though found a way through to connect. Got to find the tracks that have that emotional resonance.

Studied this for A level music a looong time ago. Reckon the LSO version a gem. And of course has the cracking Festive Overture on the same album. But the Boston recording terrific too.

For those who enjoy (!) Arabic language grammar books, this classic from the 1960s (MECAS) is a gem.

Karla's Choice Check out this great listen on Audible.com. Brought to you by Penguin. A gripping novel set in the universe of John le Carré's most iconic spy, George Smiley, written by acclaimed novelist Nick Harka...

Wonderful stepping back into Smiley’s world. Definitely feels authentic. Simon Russell Beale the perfect voice, especially for those familiar with the Smiley radio adaptions done a few years back.
