they get heated, a little physical- light handling, but still opposing with all the teasing, and it just . absolutely veers off into dan being like "oh???oh yea?? whatcha gonna do about it, buddy???"

sam indeed does
something about it

+at tired hours, that the jokes get way more entertaining, it makes them kinda delirious from lack of sleep, being delightfully stupid with eachother

dan makes a jab at sam, sam jabs back in a sort of.. different way, that spurs dan to rant, sam interjects ...

theyre spending like god awful hours of the night gaming, teasing and prodding- mostly dan at a Stressed sam, (which dan is aware of, he loves when Sam's a itty bit stressed bc it means they get more competitive together... )

and it turns into that thing where you hang with someone for long enough+

+ dan WANTS to be, he wants to see sam for the buddy he is, giving off the vibes to me he kinda.. hopes sam wants to be friends bc he wants to see dan as someone the same way IDK IDK i feel like Dan's gen innocent attachment on sam (despite everything else that comes w it) is really... sweet

they fascinate me so much, dan being this originally utterly lonely guy forming an immense and intense bond to sam, but how he treats it after is really... cute, he literally has no malicious intent, no long term goals to get something from sam, he comes across as genuinely being friends bc +

i love how dan actually looked a bit worried (kind of scared?) for a sec about getting serious, like as if sam actually seeming upset at him makes dan feel like he's gotta quick prepare about being rejected or something, IDKK its extremely subtle to me
