Another week, another roundup of canvasses to mobilize our community! Our volunteers are knocking door to door, across every neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles, to share our campaign vision and Rae’s mission to listen to your concerns and help make our city a better place 🚪🌞

definitely not fixed, I've had to take a few Ubers that are not in my budget when the 182 (which has 30 min headways) wasn't tracking and I had no way of knowing if it had already passed. predictions are inconsistent at best. trains have been the worst.

Families in our city are being actively displaced and told that stability in the city they’ve built roots in is no longer possible. We asked a student artist to reimagine a vacant, publicly owned plot of land here in downtown Los Angeles. California took a historic step in 2023 when SB 555 passed;

A lot of the opposition to @raeforla.com is because our politicians have convinced people that government can’t do anything good and that politicians have no power to change the system.

I don't disagree, I'm just saying that you can still move forward creating social housing under Article 34 restrictions. I agree that it will be better if we don't have to work around those

but the legislature already had it ready to go, with the full support of both chambers, before pulling it

okay? in practice it's usually mixed income, regardless of restrictions, because that helps prevent segregation

that said, I absolutely want Article 34 repealed, but we need the state legislators to move forward with putting it on the ballot

social housing is deliberately mixed income, that's part of the appeal

Article 34 generally doesn't apply to mixed income projects with low income below 50%, and social housing is usually mixed income to offset the subsidized units. I know there's a desire to repeal Article 34 at the state level, hopefully our next Mayor will advocate for that to happen

🚨 Inside Safe is NOT working 🚨

Inside Safe is a costly band-aid solution to our homelessness crisis that only benefits about 5% of participants.

LA has already spent over $300 million on this program, yet the outcomes are not delivering the solutions our unhoused community needs.

Individuals in this program don’t have access to the social services they need, and there’s no clear path to permanent housing.

We need real accountability. My solution is to create a clear, structured pathway for unhoused individuals to access permanent housing and long-term support.

Temporary fixes aren’t solving the crisis; we need real solutions that actually get people off the streets for good.

Silence in the face of genocide is complicity. We are sick and tired of waking up to the news that our own country is threatening to wipe out one of the oldest civilizations on Earth -- threats delivered by President Trump whose never ending greed has left Americans in constant turmoil.
