Painting by Ron Berg of the Great Bunny - a white, blue-eyed Easter bunny wearing a purple and gold-striped vest - holding a purple Wishing Egg and smiling while various anthropomorphic woodland animals work hard to produce Easter eggs and other chocolate treats in the Land of Cadbury. Far off in the background can be seen a small locomotive carrying large boxes of Easter treats, crops and a path leading to a small village, melting chocolate mountains (one of which is connected to a bridge) and a Cadbury castle resembling a rabbit's head.

Excerpt from The Tale of the Great Bunny by Krystyna Lagowski and Sarah Clarke, with an illustration by Berg of the Bunny preparing a purple Easter basket with the help of his best friend, B.B. the Beaver, and a younger bunny.

"When everything was ready Great Bunny packed his basket himself, to make sure that every treat was perfect. He marked each gift with his purple paw-print, so that the children would know that it came from the magic Land of Cadbury and the Great Bunny.
Finally, after much rushing around and a lot of hard work, the basket was full to the very top with delicious chocolate surprises. Great Bunny set off on his journey back through the twisting tunnels to take his gifts to the children."

The Land of Cadbury
1997-2005

Cadbury in Canada tried their own spin on Easter mythology with the Great Bunny and his bustling land made of chocolate, spawning a book and a TV special. The bunny remains in Australasia as the Cadbury Easter Bunny, but his land is not quite as magical as it once was.
