It would be easy for liberal-minded people to assume the latter in terms of how those passages read. But I’m thinking there’s a sowing/reaping dynamic at play rather than mere intervention. So divine wrath isn’t so much God lashing out in anger as a consequential reaping of what’s been sown.

What if the environmental plagues of Revelation are about reaping the bad fruit of sin, injustice, evil, etc. rather than suffering the unwelcome intervention of a capricious god? Would anyone really be surprised if it’s true?

Haha. Don't look now but this is turning into a conversation.

Yes, hear you. Although as you say, this may not bee all that conducive to a multilayered quasi-inclusive convo that can last for days.

Well there is that ... but I think it's also related to the Twitter/X-like platform ...

One of the things I miss about Facebook is the feeling that you’re sharing with a group of friends. Thoughts on that for a Bluesky newbie?

Prepping for a discussion of Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man Is hard to Find” … came across this bit from _Mystery and Manners_ on variations of belief and unbelief in the modern age. Still rings true … even for church-goers.

Good question. I’m new here and never did Twitter/X. Thoughts? I’m anticipating more screen shots.

During my time on Facebook, I tried to practice an open, digital version of what 17th c humanists called a "commonplace book". This is why I would frequently post quotations and invite conversation.

I'd like to try something similar here. If this is your thing, feel free to tune in or take part. 🙏
