Lord Windgrace is my fave MtG character from the Invasion books, and I loved that he got a planeswalker card, but when he got a card in Dominaria United, I was totally surprised and this was the best way to do it to. I have this one in my Dominarian History cube.
The Ur-Dragon is the deck I have all my promo basic lands in and all the dragons I've had from HS in one deck. it's actually a legendary matters deck and the commander card is an AP with art on the bacck by @teanwitch.bsky.social
It's the solar eclypse of the two dominarian moons infront of the sun
Celestial Dawn is my weird Jank card I'd always use to play 5 colors but mana fix in white to make it easier to play all the cards I want.
Zur the Enchanter was my first real commander deck I put together and still have it to this day, 14 years later.
In HS I would use Aether Rift to cheat out big dragons in a 1V1 20 life total games.
Squirrel Next introduced me to Squirrels for the first time in the game.
I was then introduced to Opposition, which became my favorite standard deck and I play it in premodern.
Here are mine. It was really hard with 29 years of game play.
Rabid Wombat was my first pet card. I love the totally out there flavor of it and it gets bigger with enchantments is always fun.
Thorn Elemental was my Jr. High card highlingt. The being able to just deal 7 damage in combat was busted
But players already do that with Serra's Sanctum and Enchanted Evening, or Gaea's Cradle and Candelabra of Tawnos in bracket 3, 4 and 5.
@gavinverhey.bsky.social, I have solid take on why Tolarian Academy should be unbanned in commander and put on the game changer list.

Nine, can't afford one, proxies are generally allowed at commander games.
Ten, how cool would it to have a Tolarian Academy in an Urza deck! On theme!
Ten really good reasons Tolarian Academy should be unbanned in commander.
Six, a Tolarian Academy isn't going to help me win by itself, I have to work at having artifacts on board to make it work.
Seven, we allready allow broken stuff in the format. Unbanning Tolarian Academy isn't going to change that.
Eight, you can't play it anywhere but Vintage and Cube.
Three, we have Gaea's Cradle, Serra's Sanctum, Nyxtos, Three Tree City and other Tolarian Academy at home cards.
Four, bracket 3 and 4 should be ready to deal with problem lands like Tabernacle at Pendral Vale and other targeted land removal.
Five, board wipes against artifacts are common staples.
Hot take.
Tolarian Academy should be a game changer.
Hear me out on this.
First off, we have unbanned a lot of cards that were seen as problem cards like Biorhythm and have been fine.
Two, we have cards that already make a large amount of mana and are just fine with it.
New video! A bit late cause I had a kickball game!

A four-panel comic from Cardboard Crack with two players talking. PANEL 1- Player 1: With Secrets of Strixhaven releasing soon, I'm super excited to use my old Strixhaven tokens again! PANEL 2- Player 1: For example my trusty old pet tokens. Player 2: Pests now gain life when they attack instead of when they die. PANEL 3- Player 1: There's still my 2/2 elementals. Player 2: Now 3/3 and flying. Player 1: My 3/2 Spirits Player 2: Now 2/2 Spirits. Player 1: 2/1 Inklings Player 2: 1/1 inklings. PANEL 4- Player 1: Fine! I'll just rip up and throw away these useless tokens! (they are ripping up cards) Player 2: You could have used those for the new Commander decks.
Don't forget to pack your InfiniTokens dry erase tokens for the Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease this weekend! You may not pull the all tokens you need from your kit.
Do you have the existing tokens types already from the last Strixhaven set? The P/Ts are different this time. 😉
Very Cryptic Command was funny as a silver border card. It would be a nightmare to have multiple functionally different cards with the same name as tournament legal cards. It's bad game design that just makes the game worse and confusing.
A picture of the book STRIXHAVEN: OMENS OF CHAOS by Seanan McGuire with the text NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER printed above it on a purple and gold background.
Contrary to popular belief, not ALL of the reserved list is excessively expensive. I picked up a Damping Field from Antiquities the other week fot $5.
If Mana Rocks are causing problems in your play group, Damping Field can help slow that down.

(Not resisting the urge to post a selfie)
Why play with these expensive cards was also brought up.
Why would you buy a diamond ring and not wear it out, or buy a sports car and not drive it?
You wear the ring because that's why you bought it. You drive the car for fun. My fun just happens to be Magic cards.
I 100% get why people use proxies. I used them. Game peaces shouldn't be locked behind money, but part of what also makes Magic fun is being limited by your collection of cards. I love owning and playing with cards I've traded for or saved up for.
While I do not own a tournament legal version of a Gaea's Cradle, I do own four real Gaea's Cradles from the Matt Linde world championship deck. Those are real cards printed by WotC. Worth $296 each BTW.
The only proxy cards in my Zur the Enchanter deck is the three OG Duals of which I own a revised Scrubland.
I had a frustrating online interaction yesterday. The sentiment was that I couldn't be actually using expensive magic cards in my decks and that I'm just proxying everything. While I am very pro-proxy, I have been playing a long time and have real tournament legal cards.
I got handed a booster pack. I can't tell if this is a Magic booster or not. Anyone know if this is a Magic the Gathering Universes Beyond booster pack?

Fun ways to pronounce MtG cards.
These are two misprint cards the top of the card is cut off and the card under it has it's name and mana cost on it. So it is the name and mana cost of one card and the type and text box are a different card. The first card has the name and mana cost of Burning Inquiry (R) with the type and text box of Divine Verdict. The top of Divine Verdict is on the bottom of the card Ice Cage
These two misscut cards are the top of Divination with the bottom of the card Goblin Piker The other card has the name and mana cost of Sage Owl with the text box of Divination.
Yup, reading the card, explains the card.
"Burning Inquiry (R)
Instant
Destroy target attacking or blocking creature."
"Divination (2)(U)
Creature- Goblin Warrior
2/1"
IDK how anyone else could interpret these cards. They clearly have a name, mana cost and text clearly written.
Also this was very interesting with the sheets and the pack breakdown for the Arabian Nights set.

Well i picked up a really minty Bird Maiden. Hopefully I'll be able to get is signed by @kajafoglio.bsky.social at the Old School event next month or at the next LDXP Tacoma.
A friend of mine traded me this Rukh Egg with the dark mana symbol signed by Christopher Rush. It was really cool of him to do so. He kept the light mana symbol version of it for himself, also signed for his Pauper Cube.
I need more Cat Warriors! Trade me your Cat Warriors!
