My first blog post on Eliminance! Pretty excited to be making these. They will go through the process of my research, explain why I made the app, and more! diurnalproductions.com/blog/the-jou...

Star Trek: The Next Generation! :D Picard's brother was allegedly working in the vineyards trying to "cure a sick vine," but they showed him grabbing grapes off the vine and eating them. If he'd been actually doing that, there's no chance you'd not just see a purple, humanoid alien.
Not many know this, but I grew up on a grape farm. One thing that always makes me laugh is seeing people doing grape-related work (in vineyards) in media. They never get it right. It doesn't matter what you're wearing, if you're working with non-green grapes, you are covered in purple coloring.
After a bunch of changes and fixes to my backend, some scripts, and some scraping stuff, diurnalproductions.com/jobs is back in action! I'm slowly adding more jobs over time as and when I find them. Yes, they are scraped, but I now validate them first, and ensure they link back to the original post!
You know, I honestly think a bunch of the anti-A.I. posters are using A.I. to write their posts. Sounds insane, but it feels like there are patterns arising that likely come from the generic drivel that it can reply with regularly.
You know, we joke about people being Luddites, but did you know they actually hung the Luddites?
It turns out when a programmer uses A.I. to code, what they really just wanted was a friend to talk to about the code they'd rather write, rather than making the friend do it.
Working a lot with Riverpod in @flutter.dev since my app uses it exclusively for state management, and managed to come up with this attempt to recreate it in #GodotGameEngine, of course! :D gist.github.com/WolfgangSenf...
I think it's pretty slick, and easy to follow. Let me know if you have q's!
Bah! Due to a bug that @phoenixdsteele.bsky.social found on my site (thank you, sorry again!), I'll be clearing out all the jobs posted and rerunning several scripts to try to get it back up to date and with only recent job postings. I'm also going to note if it came from another site automatically.
Partly - I made the post, but apparently it didn't include the date, doh! I'll update my scripts, sorry about that!
Several new jobs posted at diurnalproductions.com/jobs! There's even another #GodotEngine game. :)
Hm. I'm not really opposed to it, not as hard core as many in the Godot community are, and it would make sense. I'll still think about it.
If I were to write a book on a topic for #GodotGameEngine, if I included a bit at the end for how to use generative A.I. in the engine (but it's not at all the main purpose, and it's not about using it for assets or code, more like a piece of bonus content), would that put you off from buying it?
Did you know I made a #SlayTheSpire2 helper on my site at diurnalproductions.com/spirewire? It's free (for now), but I do ask for donations because it's definitely not free to host/develop! Please consider helping out. If you want features, let me know, happy to work on them!
New posts up at diurnalproductions.com/jobs, including a new #GodotGameEngine one! Happy to produce these for free, but donations would help tremendously.
I sometimes laugh when watching Bob Ross videos because he'll make a statement that feels so obvious - "Vertical - that's up and down" - that I can't think why he'd even say it. But he ended up being published in many places the world over, like Japan and Mexico, so it made more sense after that.
Minimum competence level. I'd rather just write a novel or even an article and get actual people to understand what I want them to. Is that weird of me?!
I find it very interesting/daft that, to use AI effectively for anything even remotely complex, you have to write at least a few markdown (.md) files to explain important parts of the task, and leaders have started making whole wikis explaining everything they want, just to be at a...
I dunno about you, but I need plushies of just about every #SlayTheSpire2 enemy and minion. They're so freakin' cugly this time around! (Cute-ugly?) Just noticed the Fuzzy Wurm actually spits on you, gross, I *love* himb!
diurnalproductions.com/spirewire
I've also made a pretty big update to my #SlayTheSpire2 sort of fan site at diurnalproductions.com/spirewire - it now has multiple utilities, including a draft helper!
I've gone ahead and made a job-posting board for game dev-related tasks! Feel free to come and join and make a post (if you need help or are looking to hire), or see what there is! (There's nothing right now, literally just published it. :P) diurnalproductions.com/jobs
Threw up a quick route to track relative values of Slay the Spire 2 cards. No idea if it's useful to anyone, but maybe? Let me know if you need any specific functionality with it, like comparing 3 cards at once. diurnalproductions.com/spirewire
has pretty much caused. People no longer read the fine print because they think AI will just summarize it properly for them anyway. It's a vicious cycle, and is honestly not good for either the pro-AI nor the anti-AI people.
I know there's a big uproar about AI now, but I have to say, the "hate" accounts that are just trying to bash it are not doing a good job of summarizing stuff - they are intentionally mis-summarizing things, and that's a problem, because no one reads closer. Sadly, that's the whole thing that AI...
You have to be fairly careful when using A.I. inside your apps. I think a lot of people don't realize that. If you don't have a solid monetization route, you will run into trouble, because A.I. is very expensive to run, not just environmentally, but literally.
get into a fight, hope that my randomized fight positions are the ones I want (picked from a limited number of possibilities), and then check them for the positions of the characters. Instead, I just update them to what I want in the editor and the positions move automatically. BOO YAH!
I think the single most under-utilized aspect of Godot by newer devs is the @tool script concept. You can make scripts so that they, in real-time, update the editor itself! Is that not insane? I have one now which updates the positions of nodes in a fight scene, so that I don't have to run the game,
Has internet phone number lookup become completely worthless? Occasionally I used to find useful numbers when getting a scam call, but not anymore.
