Models of everyday life were deposited in #Egyptian tombs. They were supposed to support the deceased in the afterlife. One of the most charming examples is the model of a #cow giving birth.
Carved in wood, painted.
Probably from Meir, #Egypt, dating c. 2040-1985 BC.

Drawing of two anthropomorphic equines, one a male horse and the other a female unicorn, sharing a tender moment on a bench in a park between flowering plants. The unicorn is laying with her head on the horse's lap and he's rubbing her exposed belly.

I'm alive! Though still working slowly. But here'a completed commission for Wafertwo, with his Uriah and Samantha sharing a tender moment in a park.

Apple Blossom Birdflower. I used to paint lots of birdflowers, and the vibrant pink blooms in my yard inspired me to paint this one.

Gouache on watercolor paper, 9X13 inches.

More art I got along the years and never posted for who knows what reason xD

This one was an awesome gift I got from @scalerandiart.bsky.social :3

Also, this dates back to 2018, not 2008, reindeer sometimes get confused with writing dates... You know... Hooves and all

A heavily stylized drawing of an anthropomorphic lion reclining beside a pool of water. Behind him are potted plants in simple pots. In the water, his reflection looks back at him as a fully feral lion laying amongst a lush garden of plants. The top of the picture has text that reads "Mirror Image" and is reflected in a warm pink. The image is mostly shades of yellow, blue, and green with hints of pink scattered around.

Scale's book was and still is one of the biggest inspirations for making my own art book.

Definitely worth checking it out if you haven't already.

Periodic reminder to check my Art Book if you enjoy my works. ;-) I've poured into it all my love for anthro animals as an art subject and it offers a lot of insight on why I often choose to illustrate unusual themes and characters.

That's home. That's us.

This image of home just came down from the Artemis II crew.

Taken after their translunar injection burn, there are aurorae at top right and lower left, and zodiacal light at lower right.

Btw, it's worth looking at the whole papyrus, because besides the antelope and the lion playing 20 Squares, there's also a hyena, fox, and wildcat herding goats and geese, one of them playing the double flute. And the games got a little spicy because the lion ended up in bed with the antelope.

Good Day, everyone.

I'll keep it brief, since most people with eyes are seeing what's going on.

A group of wealthy old farts with too much power, and especially time, on their hands, are slowly moving towards attempting to kill art, expression, freedom, anything that, annoyingly, doesn't let them feel like they're in a comfortable world they can control.

Please, do not give up. Keep fighting. Keep doing what you love. I'll keep working on the freakiest shit I can possibly provide until my hands fall off. There's no real way they can stop me, if I'm reduced to ask for pittance on the side of the road, I'll still push forward with my art.

There's a place for us, no matter what happens. When we make it through this insane fascist period, we're gonna backtrack most if not all of these changes.

Please keep in mind, they will all soon die because they’re old af anyway.

Good will win.

Have an Orbulon and his massive fuckin' hog as my closing argument.

Yours now and forever,

Arty The Frog 🐸

I realized I barely posted any art in here, let's change that!

This was the result of a life drawing session me and @folkwyn.bsky.social did with @scalerandiart.bsky.social a few years ago. It was a ton of fun!

OpenAI shutting down Sora video-generating app Disney's deal with OpenAI, which the companies struck in December, will be dissolved.

The entire business model of OpenAI has been creating online panic among creatives and selling logs of that existential dread to investors as proof that "there is something of value to this tech", even if it literally loses you money the instant you turn it on and there are no successful use cases.

Imagine if in the future another civilisation will rise and it will be bigoted as ours and they'll find furry art and will be all "these were fertility symbols " while people here just want to fuck to have a good time.

You can be a good person & still have a past that would ruin your reputation at the wrong dinner table. Life is weird like that.
Sometimes your worst years are what make you better later. And sometimes the reason you're so careful now is because you remember the damage you were capable of.
That's the uncomfortable origin story of a lot of good people. Turns out shame can grow a conscience if you let it.

Thanks! I tagged it as "nudity" but the explicit tag was added automatically, it happens to me almost every time. It's annoying but I suspect there's no essy way to avoid it.

A royal portrait of Princess Celestia from My Little Pony: Friendship is magic. She is painted in a realistic style, standing in front of a stone wall with a sun etching on it. She has a raised hoof and large flowing mane and tail that look like they are made of plasma.

A few years ago I was compelled to paint two portraits of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna from MLP:FIM. I left them out of my art book due to trademark concerns, but I can share here the two pages I would have put in the book, complete with my notes to the pictures. 1/4

My photo shows part of a limestone wall panel carved in bas relief from the Fifth Dynasty mortuary temple of king Userkaf at Saqqara, Old Kingdom, 2465-2458 BC. It shows a Hoopoe, a crested bird with black and white wing pattern, and an ibis, with long curved beak, amongst papyrus plants in the marshes of the river Nile. My photo was taken in 2022 at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Lovely naturalistic relief of a Hoopoe and Ibis, carved by an Egyptian artisan some 4,500 years ago!
