I want Nyla on TV! And I want AEW to fully stand behind her and use her, trolls be damned. But I am not privy to backstage at all so, and neither are any of us. But I certainly don't begrudge anyone making a stink about Nyla not being used. It's a legit gripe.
It's all absurd because it's not even a sports event, but I am legit concerned that AEW had made the call to not book Nyla to keep a potential shit storm from right wing publicity at bay, or maybe even for her own safety. I'm very not thrilled about any of it but I also don't know the whole story.

Yep, absolutely legitimate critique. I don't know what conversations TK and Nyla have had but it's a super legit critique for us to levy on the company for sure
Whether that catering is authentic or just driven by capitalism is almost besides the point in the MAGA era. A capitalist enterprise showing that catering to a queer and lefty audience actually works is a political statement in and of itself.
I'm a huge AEW fan but I'm not deluded about capitalism.
Letting Brody King wear an abolish ICE shirt on national TV, and letting his queer wrestlers be visibly queer in this current political environment isn't nothing. TK may be a closet Republican for all I know (obviously he's a capitalist) but he is leaning into his lefty fan base bc it sells.
TK is a nepo baby who smartly keeps his own politics close to the vest, and I am prepared for him to disappoint AEW fans greatly someday, but that's all conjecture. What counts right now is that he lets his workers have a voice and be their authentic selves:

It's definitely an art film. It's non-linear and not narrative but it excels at showing the viewer who Fugazi is, why they do what they do, and why they were one of the best bands ever to do it. I would be super interested in how a non-music person would take to it!
