No matter how technologically advanced a space or a demon race is, they always seem to need human slaves to chop and carry rocks.

Tonight: take a poem to the movies. Sit in the dark, let the soundtrack drown out your breath.

Man or Bear — Black Iris

Black Iris Issue 5 is a real banger. And I'm not even saying so just because I'm in it. Read the whole thing. Start here: www.blackirispoetry.com/man-or-bear

Having spent a snowless Christmas in Finland, here's my message to past self: "Haha - you fool for thinking London winter is dark! Remember where you come from, girl."

Rewatching Buffy and school - what a way of life! Spending the day with BFFs learning biology, then a bit of maths, then geography... I'd even gladly try out some new sport in PE. And SOMEONE ELSE has planned and organised all this - all you have to do is show up! Why can't adults have this?

I've never read it, but as a lit student, feel like I know it inside out and that it has a key role in my life. A recurring motif, if you will. 😄

There's a lot of enshittification going on but the way MS has fucked up "new" Outlook continues to blow my mind every day. Over twenty years I've been relying on this tool and now it can barely send an email. I am truly curious as to how this was achieved.

Over the course of history many have tried this and always find it's not a long term strategy. Because everyone ends up sick or dead and can't really spend money on the poison lettuce anymore. Being a disaster capitalist is hard.

I was up at 7am so can confirm that the so-called day is only getting darker. Expect complete darkness by 1pm aka 1300hrs.

Good show, London winter, just as promised.

Every time I hear a politician say that an issue is “dividing” this country they always then come down on the side of the right wing view of it. Just once I’d love to hear someone say “this issue is divisive, which is why I’m making the argument that kindness and compassion is important”

Reasons to write happier poetry: editing wouldn't be so goddamn harrowing.

We lost one of the people off the coach so we had to leave them behind. We waited an hour, and informed the police. Hope you are feeling better.

From Mamdani speech from: "And while we cast our ballots alone, we chose hope together." to: "And we won because we insisted that no longer would politics be something that is done to us. Now, it is something that we do."

Segment from Mamdani speech from: "Now, I know many have heard our message only through the prism of misinformation. Tens of millions of dollars have been spent to redefine reality ..." to "We refuse to let them dictate the rules of the game anymore. They can play by the same rules as the rest of us."

"too many among us have turned to the right for answers to why they've been left behind"

This is how you bring people together instead of bowing to division.
