Mmh I don’t remember seeing "dégriffé" used in this way. "Désarmé" would be the straightforward/boring translation. There might be a more colorful word, more in the style of defanged, but it doesn’t come to mind at the moment.
Yes, but sometimes a past participle is commonly used without the verb itself being so. "Disgruntled", for instance.
Not a native speaker either. I don’t remember seeing fang used as a verb, but defanging wasn’t unknown or surprising to me.
