Dr. Rentian Yao is a postdoctoral fellow in Mathematics at UBC. He got his Ph.D. in Statistics from UIUC and B.S. in Math from Fudan University. He works on optimal transport, computational statistics, and optimization, with a broad interest in the foundations of machine learning.
Dr. Zhiling Gu is a postdoc in the Department of Biostatistics at Yale. Her research lies at the intersection of functional data analysis, spatiotemporal modeling, nonparametric statistics, and artificial intelligence for high-dimensional biomedical and environmental data.
We are very pleased that Drs Zhiling Gu (now post-doc at Yale University; guzhiling.com) and Rentian Yao (now post-doc at the University of British Columbia; lnkd.in/eT6PsXjA) will join us in Aug as our newest tenure-track Assistant Professors. Congratulations!🎊
