Okay so I've finally seen the Hunger Games 12 years too late but my impressions are:

- Gale is obviously the best choice, like without a doubt
- they're all fools for keeping Peeta alive for as long as they did

One of the games I've been playing encourages you to record a podcast as you go a la WTNV so instead of doing that I bought myself a cassette recorder and I'm gonna end up with this nice pile of recordings of me solving mysteries and I'm so excited <3

So these are the two new journals I treated myself to for some upcoming games.

The black one is for Ion Hearts because I wanted something I could use colours on and make it look striking, so need to pick up some blue and peach gel pens.

Now with self-hosted servers coming up, full PvE endgame availability, we have a chance for the game to swing back to life and I'm so, so, so excited.

The very nature of how they built endgame progression and mechanics feels purposefully designed to shed players and that just feels insane to me.

The only option for private servers was to pay to host your own, where you could turn off degradation etc but what's the point? -

an immersive single-player story-driven experience as your main game takes a toll on the more casual playerbase that makes up your bread and butter.

When they have to log in to power their base and pay tolls but can't go do endgame because PvP isn't their vibe, what's left for them? I'll tell ya -

the long-term gameplay is completely opposed to how players like to engage in these kind of games.

Needing a regular login for two (2) separate mechanics that both relate to base degradation coupled with forced end-game PVP WHILE-

Greatly aided by the surge in popularity due to Villeneuve's movies (though Lynch's will ALWAYS be special to me and I'll not hear a word about it), which paved the way for a base understanding of "Paul can see the future and this is a future he saw" which smooths over MANY of the issues but -

I believe the biggest thing that's held Dune back was the density of the material (26 books but actually only 5 depending on who you argue with), the relatively archaeic language the text is written in, and the depth of themes.

Awakening fixed all those issues and then punched itself in the dick.

This is where the game should have tried to go to from the start.

With the buzz around FiveM and RedM, having the capacity to piggyback off of their RP scene and the Dune movies with fucken, idk, SpiceM would have built a huge playerbase.

Dune: Awakening is finally doing what should have been done from the start and adding full PvE only servers and the option to self-host which means we're so close to full RP Dune capabilities and I'm vibrating with excitement

Journaling RPGs has got me filled with a desire to do a full series play through of Pokémon with journaling as well and now I gotta go buy more journals even though I just bought more journals and oh no
