Meet TC3 Trainee Paulina Antwi. She is a doctoral student whose work examines the impact of acute cannabis use on driving, as well as plasma THC, related metabolites, & other biomarkers of interest. @uoftmedicine.bsky.social @camhnews.bsky.social #cannabis #DUI #roadsafety #policy #PhDLife #driving
By clarifying the relationship between THC levels and functional impairment, his work aims to support evidence-based policies and roadside safety.
His research investigates the pharmacological factors influencing cannabis-impaired driving, specifically examining the acute effects of cannabis and tobacco co-use and the "morning-after" residual effects on driving performance and blood cannabinoid concentrations.
Meet TC3 Trainee Sampson Zhao! Sampson is a PhD student in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology @utoronto.ca under the supervision of Dr. Patricia Di Ciano at @camhnews.bsky.social.

Dr. Tyndale has also interrogated genetic variants in the endocannabinoid system, for example the influence of FAAH genotypes in different CURB imaging studies and on risk for cannabis use disorder (CUD).
In the cannabis space, for example, this has involved collaborations with scientists testing different cannabis formulations, using LC/MS to examine the plasma/urinary concentrations of THC, CBD and their metabolites, as well as the products (e.g. vapes) themselves.
Meet TC3 Member Prof. Rachel Tyndale! Her work focuses on pharmacogenomics and pharmacokinetics of substance use disorders.
