Last summer, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum quietly removed online materials about American racism and canceled a workshop on the “fragility of democracy,” according to a recently released Politico report.
"There are very few artists left in Israel who dare to speak," he said. "If you are against occupation, against genocide, so you become isolated. You become not part of this place. You become (an) enemy of state."
My mind chose in that moment “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.”
So now whenever we are learning something new and I bring out a fairy tale, the class in near-unison rumbles into “Hace mucho tiempo, en una galaxia muy, muy lejana.” And then we talk about Rumpelstiltskin or something.
When teaching literary elements to my 7th graders, I use fairy tales as models (e.g. “a theme of Little Red Riding Hood isn’t ‘a wolf will eat your grandma,’ but ‘be wary of whom you trust.’”). Once with my Spanish-speaking class, I forgot the Spanish equivalent of “once upon a time.” 1/2

Thorough roundup by @joshnathankazis.bsky.social, includes the ADL's tying the war to Judaism itself while also insinuating it was at Saudi Arabia behest:
Great-grandparents of every Jew who supports this:
A fat happy pigeon is sitting and wearing a party hat, painted in acrylic over a reddish coral background
Today's pigeon is here to party.
So it goes.
This is such great news! 🖤
Seasides I saw this summer: Ireland, England, California, and —the least romantic, unless you were there— New Jersey.
Forward Jacob Kornbluh ADL SPOKESPERSON RE: MAMDANI "Jonathan was talking about engagement after the primary, when voters now have their options before them and it matters most. To our knowledge, the candidate hasn't gone to a mainstream synagogue or Jewish organization since the primary ended and given the ongoing crisis of antisemitism, he needs to immediately go on record and answer these questions for the Jewish community: 1. Will he promise not to appoint radicals to their administration, individuals with a track record of antisemitism, extremism or hate who would bring an agenda into his offices that could harm Jewish New Yorkers? 2. Will he ensure NYPD protection for all houses of worship, including synagogues that display Israeli flags? 3. Will he provide NYPD to act as security for Jewish community events, including fundraisers for organizations supporting Israeli humanitarian causes like ambulance services? 4. Will he commit to ensuring New York City Public Schools students aren't miseducated with false information or poisoned by politics about the Middle East, let alone an anti-American agenda? 5. Will he zealously ensure that City Hall and government spaces only host organizations that are free of terror links? "As for 'Globalize the Intifada,' there's a world of difference between strongly condemning a violent, antisemitic slogan and merely discouraging people to use the phrase. If anyone wants to reduce this to campaign appearances and political optics, that framing is dead wrong. This isn't about politics, it's about whether Jewish New Yorkers can feel safe in their synagogues, their schools, and their city. Jewish New Yorkers deserve a leader who will see what we're experiencing and do everything they can to protect us.
Given that the ADL labels most Jewish supporters of Mamdani as terrorists, here the hate group is demanding Mamdani not employ Jews in City Hall:

I follow way too many men with mustaches on all of my social media accounts and I’m pretty happy about it, honestly.
The duality of middle schoolers.
SO good.
Sometimes you just need to buy a chandelier.
And by you, I mean me.
And by sometimes, I mean just this once.
