I think I would rather die than be a tech bro. :D
I don't really know how to convince people to genuinely believe that the humanities are important. I think my best argument is...they are a focus on the things that make us human. What could be more important than that? Why should our focus be only on work or profit or success along narrow metrics?

If you had animorph powers, what animal would you transform into?
Smithsonian Magazine asked me to highlight five Hell Creek Formation discoveries that changed what we know about the last days of the dinosaurs. I was happy to include @zhejiang0pterus.bsky.social's Infernodrakon in the short list.
I do believe your logic is infallible. *nod nod*
Today is a hard day. What can I say, other than I am grateful for the rain on this parched desert. I appreciate my crow friends coming for a visit. And that I wish for better things for us all.
The D2D news is irritating and a lousy “solution” to the offending problem. Punishing human artists for a surge in AI slop is certainly a move one could make, I suppose.
It's so pretty!
He has always been exactly this person, I fear. I am sorry for those whose illusion of Flavortown is now shattered, tho.
Idaho queer communities produce some of the bravest and most beautiful acts of courage, standing up on the front lines for each other against impossible odds.
Solidarity.
Potato is a primary food group for me, and having variety at all is so welcome. I am crossing my fingers so hard for you.
Hey Idahoans! Our journalists subject to McClatchy are struggling to negotiate for fair wages. If you have a moment, please consider writing a letter! <3 actionnetwork.org/letters/tell...
Here is the original cropped photo I have. Even this copy has been enhanced in Photoshop. The one on the internet has been reconstructed by AI. You can see differences in the background and it reconstructed their missing bodies. what is most important is the spirit of the photo/Lugosi's intentions.
HAIL THE RETURN OF POTATO!!!
Kindly get bent, thanks so much!
I fully shut down afterward, though. I ate and then laid in bed and watched Schitt's Creek. Today, the brain fog and leaden-body is quite present, so I know I will need to rest for a couple of days to recover. Which is good! Ask me how good I was at awareness in the past. 😆
My brain was not fully present though. For instance, I turned on my foot pedal (iPad for sheet music), but then could not remember doing that, and instead of testing it I panicked and turned pages manually. lol Good lesson in developing a routine to ensure all of that is second nature!
Also, I had to really recognize that I can't work on performing well under pressure until I work on performing...period. This was skill building, and playing well under that pressure will come with time. So I am very proud of myself. 😊
Performance last night went well, despite the fact that it was not the best I've played that piece. The goal for me was to improve my deeply crippling performance anxiety and resiliency. I continued on and never paused or stuttered through my mistakes (learning that *presence* carries a lot).
Thank you so much! I will carry this with me and try my best to just enjoy it. :)
😅 Yes, let's maybe avoid actual broken limbs. And thanks! One zombie audience, coming up!
Thank you, Nicole!
Hah! perfect. I will channel Moira. XD
This evening, I will be performing Bach's first cello suite. The anxiety is really starting to rise, and my brain is not braining right. 😅 Please wish a leg to be broken. 🙏
Malorie sitting with her cello on stage, throwing a peace sign and being silly.
Last night was our concert ✌️
Quite sad to see the news out of FSG today about the MSD closure and departure of Sean McDonald. I so appreciated the books being published out of that space, and it feels like such a loss to the publishing world.
Bar chart of polling data from Data For Progress. Title: Voters Strongly Oppose Efforts to Cut Medicaid. Description: Would you support or oppose each of the following proposals? Capping the total amount of federal Medicaid funding each state receives — Support: 27%, Oppose: 60% Eliminating Medicaid payments to family members who serve as caregivers for disabled relatives — Support: 22%, Oppose: 67% Eliminating Medicaid-funded home care services for seniors and people with disabilities — Support: 16%, Oppose: 75% April 3–6, 2026 survey of 1,213 U.S. likely voters.
My latest with @dataforporgress.org on Medicaid:
MAGA is trying to redefine core disability services — the things disabled Americans need to live — like home care as fraudulent, in order for even more cuts that will kill us. Voters don't support it.

The sentiment was perfectly felt, so no worries at all. :) I relate to wishing I proofread my posts more, though. haha
