It's a "quality of life", instead of "life-threatening" surgery, thankfully. Recovery is harder, with a higher chance of complications the older you are. With years of waiting and how intensive it is, I'm starting to give up on it. Also now I suddenly don't have any plans where I'm going to live. 😰
My plans to start co-living next year when my rental contract ends, fell through. Means I still can't start applying for a certain (multiple phased) surgery because I live alone and they require you to have someone to take care of you as you recover, then do it all again.
