When you play the Hanged One, you’ll be the part of the Hero full of outsized focus, a figure focused on growing and letting go by placing themselves in a position to learn from difficulty.

A young man pulls back a curtain covering a mirror and is just about to catch his reflection in it. Past him, the hallway is lined with ornate art nouveau mirrors, each of which seems to have a person trapped inside. All seem to be trying to warn him. At the end of the hallway, a tall lanky figure stands in shadow. The light from behind the figure casts their even longer shadow onto the floor toward the young man.

The Shark may prepare any full-sized mirror to become a trap for the first human who makes eye contact with their reflection within it. That person becomes trapped inside the reflected room, which is a frozen facsimile of the world outside.

In our Temperance card we see an Artist going about their daily life when they stumble across a brave orchid struggling to grow in an alley. The Artist uses Transmutation to re-form what they have on hand—their favorite scarf—to water the tiny living thing.⁣
