The auroras are alive and well in NE Montana. This one was taken at 11 PM by the McDonald’s DOT camera.

I found a PWHL personality quiz and it says I should cheer for the Goldeneyes so IDK I’m still conflicted 😵‍💫

I gotta start watching for more games, I’m hoping that’ll clear some things up.

But Minneapolis always feels like a home away from home to me.

And I cannot overstate how much I love purple and also it’s a weather phenomenon (Frost), and also I named my cat Kirsi which means Frost in Finnish…

Am I a Frost fan? Is this my team?

Vancouver is a place I can get behind. It’s been more than a hot minute since I was there but I remember loving my visit.

I would definitely be down to return and establish good vibes with the place.

But with everything going on right now I’ve been re-grieving the loss of the UND women’s hockey team (which shuttered before I got there) so it’s like I don’t want to miss a chance to see and cheer on Karvinen and Campbell.

But also if I chased UND alums, I’d be a Sens fan and… I’d rather die.

So I love the Frost for that reason. The purple, the Minnesota (I say that and I also actively chose not to be a Wild fan lol).

But considering how many times I like to go back to Grand Forks for UND games it would be SO easy to swing by and catch a Frost game which very much appeals to me.

And part of that dilemma is because I try not to base my support team just off of current players because players get traded ALLLLL the time so I’ve always thought that if I commit to a team, I need to commit to the vibe first and then I can support individual players on other teams.

latest dilemma… which PWHL team to commit to

I’ve always been partial to the Frost because purple is objectively the best color and I vibe with Minnesota

But then I also see how a couple the last remaining UND women’s hockey players and the former UND women’s HC are with the Goldeneyes

I AM TORN

I can now confidentially say that I SEVERELY underestimated the amount of skill required for curling.

That being said, I actually had a lot of fun trying it out with the local curling club.

I think, if I try really hard, by the 2030 games I will be able to stop slipping all the time 🤣

The only game worth watching tonight, in my very personal opinion, the Detroit Red Wings versus the Utah Mammoth, is blacked out from online viewing because networks are dumb. I can’t afford to just hop on a plane to Salt Lake City every time my hockey team is in town. It’d be one thing if Montana, or any of the surrounding states, had a pro hockey team (not counting Alberta because that’s another country and also Calgary is a solid 8 hour drive away). But there is NO pro hockey in this area, for hundreds of miles. So whatever benefit the NHL thinks they’re getting out of this, they’re not. They’re just telling fans in rural areas to pound sand instead of encouraging a previously untapped fanbase to engage. Which, if they actually invested in this area and encouraged the game of hockey, would help not only the NHL’s bottom line but encourage more support for the junior and college teams in this state that are lovely and deserve more public support but are admittedly not well attended right now. But instead, ESPN and the NHL draw hard lines in the sand. So every game that could be “local” is blacked out from viewing. Someone please explain to me like I’m 5 how this makes things better.

I’m gonna rant for a quick second…

I am blacked out on a game that is two whole states away because “gotta encourage the fans to go see it in person” UTAH DOESN’T EVEN TOUCH MONTANA LEMME SEE IT

very proud to have raised a cat who isn’t afraid of thunder (she used to get scared in the first couple months after I adopted her)

ears still perk up when she hears the louder rumbles but there is no fear in her eyes

On Monday I had the joy of hiking up to Upper Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park. Started off with a boat ride across Two Medicine Lake followed by a 5 mile round trip that included Twin Falls.
