Annnd we're back! For real this time! There's been a lot of Life Stuff getting in my way for the past 6 months or so but I think I am in a condition to get back on the grind.
I'll be posting some new stuff that was found, still all old CA work unfortunately but still cool!

HERE IT IS! The trailer for TF: Rise! It would've been shown at E3 2020 had a mix of COVID and publisher incompetence not stifled the whole project.
By the end of 2020 the game was given to Splash Damage, who fully rebooted the project with less than 12 months until release.
@tfuinfo.bsky.social Hey there! I couldn’t find a way to DM you, so I hope it’s okay to reach out here. I’m researching the Reactivate game in hopes of preserving its history and I think you posted this slide. Not sure if you have any more info about it but if you do may we discuss it in DMs?
At some point, when I have a little more time, I'll put together a video showcasing some of his voice lines. The ones I've managed to get make him come across as very sassy. Steve Blum did a great job.
As for the bonus, have this, an upgrade chart! This was an old concept Certain Affinity had, and I will be elaborating more on it in a later post when I have more information about it. I believe Bee, Ratchet, Shockwave and Starscream all have similar charts.
Jet mode concept arts! I know that some of these are definitely earlier than October, so I'm just not putting the dates. It's sometime in 2018.
There are 25 pieces of 2D art, iteration upon iteration. I'm gonna *try* get the notable ones here. I've put October 2018 for some of the dates on these but they all are within minutes of each other so this is probably the date they were all exported or put into the folder.
These are all his 3D renders, the model ended up not really having the discolored wing, meaning it's both inaccurate to the concept art and the toy. I think most of the other battle damage remained though. As well, here's the non-battle damaged version!
Lord of the Skies, Starscream! Voiced by Steve Blum as you've likely heard from the cutscenes.
This art is really cool, it's the render used in the intro video but painted over with the battle damage. Please enjoy this thread of concept art. :) 🧵
The first model ever made was Hot Rod, so for the first few months of development (late 2017, early 2018) the 3 playable characters were just Hot Rod recolours.
And, if not for Splash Damage axing over 50% of the game's workforce by forcing all remote workers to return to the office or get a new job, while I don't know if the game would be out by now, it would've still been in development and have much higher prospects of releasing.
Fun fact!! :))
By mid 2020 several devs and higher ups were pretty confident that CA would have TFR released in less than 12 months. If not for the tensions with Leyou that led to Splash getting the project, Transformers Rise would've likely released at the end of 2021.
For the bonus, here's an earlier iteration of the robot mode render which features a lot less asymmetrical detailing. There's still a bit, but you can pretty much extrapolate his clean look. Sorry for taking so long on this!!
Here's some vehicle iterations too! There's a lot with really minute changes but luckily CA had an image that compiled it. The second image is I believe the "final" art that was used for the basis of the model.
The final 2D art they went with, which'd become the basis of the model. This art has been posted before, but this is much higher res.
Here's all of his 2D concept art iterations! I love seeing this stuff, and it'd nag me if I don't post it all to be complete.
To be honest, before TFR I barely knew who Powerglide was- but I gotta say, this design makes him look so awesome and I need a toy of it yesterday.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN GLORIOUS HIGH RESOLUTION, POWERGLIDE! His 2D art has been before, and these renders *might've?* been posted before but definitely not in this quality, please enjoy! Alt mode and other art in the thread!🧵
Sorry for not posting much lately!! Been super busy with life stuff but I've been talking to my friends about TFR again and it gave me a bit of a kick, I'll post the renders I've gotten for Powerglide in the next hour or so, I think he was next on my list last I checked.
I've been really busy lately, but I now have a Discord up for TFR archiving!
I will keep posting art here and the other site first and foremost! I hate when archival stuff is locked behind Discords.

Remember! We're making a documentary! If you or someone you know has information about TFR in any of its forms- please reach out either in my DMs or at the anonymous email!

We want to tell the story of this game as thoroughly as possible!
Sorry for taking so long to get these up onto Bluesky, I just got really busy all of a sudden. I really don't do it intentionally 😭
For the customary bonus, here's some artwork that was used as reference material when designing Soundwave!
RAVAGE! LASERBEAK! RUMBLE! EJECT, EJECT, EJECT!!
For the first time ever, we have proper, clean renders of the cassettes! Figuring out an alt mode for them proved very difficult- eventually the answer was "Screw it, just make them boxes and hope they don't think about it."
Soundwave's Alt mode was a mishmash of different designs, Animated, Evergreen and a couple fan designs were the main inspirations. The last two images are concepts for the animation of the Radar coming out.
I think it's very interesting to see the development from 2D sketch to 3D model, the model overall is quite faithful to the original artwork.
I think everyone has wanted to see this render for a long time, I have more concept iterations but I remember this being very sought after. Because it doesn't fit in with a lot of the other material I'm just giving it its own post.
Soundwave Superior, Cancelled Games... inferior?
SOUNDWAVE! Here he is! This'll be a long thread, so please take a look at Rumble, Ravage and Laserbeak below. It's my pleasure to start with the render that was ON THE TOY BOX ART!
THEY WORKED!!!!!!! YAYY!!! I'm so sorry that they're very compressed.
And for the customary bonus image at the end, have this little freak. I think Bumblebee has an inner frame art too.
The original Hot Rod was done in a lot more detail than the other concept art I've seen, I presume it was done by someone different before they had their delivery format down.
