Hard copies of my Element on bathrooms and politics have arrived to grace the department book wall!
"Renters so far have been snapping up whatever hits the market, putting a floor on rent declines. That would suggest that higher rents are being supported by higher-income renters." I do not follow the logic in this piece at all.
On March 5, 1888, Henry Cabot Lodge commented on the changing forms of disfranchisement in the South. Noted that by design they aimed to not wake the apathetic forces of democracy from their slumber
They're in the business of business!
Getting away from the news was rewarded with a nice sheep sighting on today’s ride
No doubt AIPAC was important (they recruited Latimer to run!), but I don't think its testable if Bowman wins w/o AIPAC spending... Latimer had opened a major lead in polls before AIPAC even started spending in earnest (if I have the timeline correct) yonkerstimes.com/poll-finds-l...
Famously good strategy
"Researchers... found that alfalfa — used as feed for beef and dairy cows — sucks up more water than all the cities and industries in the enormous Colorado River Basin."
this is some stick stuff, even for California
Really pleased that my article with the incredibly kind, brilliant, insightful, and hireable Nico de la Cerda (EJPR) is now online (open access) at the EJPR. ejpr.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
Thats a good idea, CO politics definitely particularly finicky around "more state power"
I am a huge Fischel fan. His research on county development has been especially influential in my own work.
Thats a fair point, Eric (and I didn't choose the title!!). I guess its a matter of understanding the geographic context of "backyard." I was considering Denver at-large the backyard for homeowners. But perhaps I should rethink that!
Denver had a chance to build some badly needed housing, but voters rejected a proposal to do just that. I was curious why. #copolitics

A few years ago Gibbs Knotts, Jordan Ragusa & I published a piece on gubernatorial appointments of U.S. Senators that seems relevant to the conversation about Feinstein's potential replacement:
