From a friend who was there today: MIT class president denounced the MIT administration and said “we MIT students showed the world what we want is an end to Israeli military collaboration," the crowd erupted in chants of "free palestine," flags everywhere, they cut the livestream 🇵🇸

If you do in fact want Covid boosters for yourself or anyone, you can submit public comment to the FDA here: www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD...
thank you for sharing and for the work you do 💜
Thank you, this is perfect!
Yes!! This is so helpful. Didn't know about Netzpolitik, excited to familiarize myself with it too!
Thank you!!
(thank you in advance!)
hi folks! I'm teaching tech ethics this summer, and part of the course is having students read news articles about ongoing tech issues.
can anyone recommend publications that cover tech issues in a non-US context (either issues in countries beyond the US and/or do not center the US)?
Thank you so so much for both of these!!
thank you *so* much! hope all is well - or as well as it can be right now. 💜
@clancyny.bsky.social I know it's been a while, but I thought you might know some folks! But no worries if not, either!
hi folks - especially journalism friends! I have a dear friend who is an expert on detransition and is looking to communicate about their research and its implications in light of the new NIH directives - anybody know who I might connect them or an appropriate place to pitch an op-ed? thank you!!
Breaking out the billionaire tears mug this morning apropos of nothing (or no one, or company)
Addendum: whether DeepSeek or OpenAI, there's no such thing as AGI and attempting to build it results in harm.
See our paper.
Sharing tools I created in #p5xjs for creative coding basics for often explained concepts that lacked demos. With AI, blending ideas is now easier. I am going to try with my students in class today.

I just created this BlueSky starter pack of Researchers and Creators of Trans Technology (loosely defined). Please share, and let me know if you want to be added (or removed)!
This is one of the biggest design flaws of this app: it’s all in the clear. That’s design for people who don’t have security and privacy concerns, not design for all. I’ve run the studies myself and it’s clear: visibility controls are the #1 way to help marginalized folks protect themselves online
ICYMI, last week I posted the icebreaker activity I did with my first day of my course on data literacy of/by/for the humanities. Had the students make a dataset about themselves and go through the steps of organizing, questioning, and analyzing it.
A very fluffy bernedoodle puppy, with long black and white curly hair, flops his head and front two paws over some carpeted stairs. He looks tired and sleepy.
As @crystaljjlee.com says… trying to be the person my dog thinks I am today.
Like no platform is a monolith, obviously, and I know the ways the right are using that app. But it also feels important to me to acknowledge that TT up until yesterday probably felt the closest to me to the promise of social media.
It’s sooooo easy to get on here or other platforms and confirm the idea that other people are generally ill intentioned or intentionally ignorant etc and it makes me more afraid, isolated, and less willing to show care. That has been the opposite of my experience on TikTok and that is *valuable*
I’m going through and saving some of my favorite tiktoks before leaving that app and something that I think is underarticulated about the value of TikTok is that it just makes me like other people more. Like look at these beautiful humans doing human things.
The idea that a president can issue an executive order that overrides Congress, while it may be appealing to everyone who wants TikTok back and agrees that the TikTok ban is a first amendment violation, is actually illegal dictator shit
MERMAIDS CAN BE FAT!!! I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL!!!
Because TikTok isn’t around to remind you, now is a good time to go check in on our Palestinian neighbor’s GoFundMe’s.
It’s nearly impossible to explain to non disabled people the hope we had at the beginning of the pandemic.
Hope for inclusion & accommodation. For better awareness & treatment of chronic illness.
Having that hope ripped away and replaced with increasing ableism, eugenics & hatred? Its devastating
I do! And my research supports that others do too.
“Lord take Teams not TikTok”
Thank goodness the TikTok ban is in effect and now no one can ever use my data for nefarious purposes.
