surely no army in military history has ever been laid low by disease, a famously uncommon problem among people living in enforced close quarters

That sounds like Thursday's problem to me.
As always the Joshi ahead of their time.

Infowars/Onion combo logo in rainbow saying “I support the onion’s hostile media takeover.”
A large white waterfowl with orange feet stands in front of a door. On the door is a cardboard sign secured with tape that reads, "DO NOT LET THE DUCK IN." Adding insult to injury, I think the duck might be a goose.
Whatever you do,
I dedicate tonight Pasta to you
You always look fondly on the Jewish guys.
This may have also been an issue:
Guess what else was in the box set. The remake is better for sure. Giving all 11 members of the gang story lines was a mistake.
"I don't expect you to be perfect, I want you to be my husband." Angie Dickinson gets the best lines in this film.
"We didn't have a home we had a floating Crap Game." Is a great line.
my quick review of Wrestlemania 42 Night 1:
imagine Wrestlemania X8 without Rock vs. Hogan, and EVERY match was sponsored by a Japanese shampoo company
This afternoon's viewing. I found a Rat Pack Triple Bill including the original Ocean's 11 so it is time for Jazz and schmooze of a Sunday afternoon.
On of my friends at work has only ever seen two bands. Take That and Nickelback. That's their core audience Disney Mums who think Nickelback are heavy.
There are people out there who don't know about the only Tory in Manchester Gary Barlow?
I like wrestling, obviously. I'm not being snobby or elitist when I say:
There's something wrong when a pro wrestling company thinks it's appropriate to block media partners and wield the power it does.
Pro wrestling is just above the circus & carnival. Most aren't around anymore.

This is a periodical reminder that guitar shops do exist and you should support them. Whilst on holiday this week I found a guitar shop in Matlock. The guy was very friendly & we talked for a while but I have been looking for Flange Pedal this was a Danelectro Fab Flange for £25 it sounds like this
That certainly seems to be the guy. Just saw him billed as Black Butcher Johnson - The Wildman of Borneo at a run of Scottish shows in 1948-9.
If it's the guy I'm thinking of it will be Arthur Johnson the first recognised World Title holder of African Descent. The "Wild man from Borneo!" Who was of course born in Paddington.

Wrestling promotion advert from the Belfast Telegraph on 11th April 1941.
Plaque commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Belfast Blitz highlighting the use of Peters Hill Baths as a temporary mortuary.
Those who follow wrestling will know this weekend is Wrestlemania, the biggest event of the year.
85 years ago, just before the Luftwaffe raid on Belfast, promoter Dan Joseph was packing Peters Hill with his show. Twenty four hours later things would look very different.

More than just a story about Andreas Hale, this sends a message to all aspiring reporters/writers to steer clear of critical coverage because it will harm your standing with access to WWE and therefore diminishes the value you bring to your outlet
Outlets need to back their reporters
in the 1970s Hillary Clinton made a hundred grand trading cattle futures and 15 years later the news media made a decade-long scandal out of it
the strait of hormuz needs to have regular, predictable open hours or frankly they are going to lose me as a customer
In honor/horror of Stephanie McMahon's WWE Hall of Fame induction tonight, I published my chapter on her from my book at my Substack. Check it out and buy a copy if you haven't already! scarlettwoman.substack.com/p/daddys-lit...
The New Yorker, "Wondering why people are pining for old technologies - CD players, VCRs, Walkmans. What's behind our longing for inconvenience?"
Inconvenience? I just had to dig seven pages deep to find the unsubscribe for one of the four TV subscriptions I need, I'm measured & optimized against in my supermarket, lamps, music, games, and travel. Every service I love gets enshittified to buy billionaires yachts worth 100 times my house.
