April is New Mexico Native Plant Month, and what better way to celebrate than with this stunning field of native Mexican golden poppies in Las Cruces!
This month, I encourage every New Mexican to celebrate and embrace the extraordinary natural heritage right outside our doors.
Our investment is paying off with overall enrollment up more than 13% since 2022 and freshman enrollment up more than 18%! Students are choosing New Mexico and staying here after graduation. It’s a great return on our investment.

New Mexico stepped up to confront the measles threat and the nation is taking notice. A new CDC report cites our measles response as a model for the nation, with a 55% increase in vaccinations. When we lead with science, we keep New Mexicans healthy and save lives.
