Another piece, with an advert for a music player
Another piece with a list of riddles!

A hole in the brick wall of our hallway
A screwed up piece of newspaper with the date August 5 1928 at the top.
Last night, I spent a while trying to unfurl these screwed up bits of newspaper which we found stuffed between the bricks of our hallway wall⦠one is from August 1928(!)
Truly depressing that, like every other current ECR/PhD, Iāve never known an academia that is any different
A square of red tiled floor. You can also see someoneās feet standing on the tiles, as well as various other kinds of flooring.
Taking up the carpets in our hallway and found this! Our house was built c.1930 so Iām intrigued to know how old this might beā¦
Hand holding a slim green book. The spine is facing the camera.
I have a knack for finding library books that havenāt been taken out by anyone else for decades (so donāt register on the library system). Might start a thread. Today, itās thisā¦

Red book titled āDivided Islandā by Daniela Tarazona. The book is held up by my hand, in front of a window with Venetian blinds. Through the blinds, you can see a garden.
Plans for the long Easter weekend (my resolution for this year was to read Mexican lit and Iāve been particularly looking forward to this one)
āOne of the great weaknesses of our era is we get lone superhero movies that suggest that our big problems are solved by muscly guys in spandex, when actually the world mostly gets changed through collective effort, more like caregiving than it is like war.ā

Interior of the hall. I remember sitting at that top table as a child!

Thinking of you, Claire! Very scary stuff
So interesting! Would love to hear more about your course @disabilitystor1.bsky.social
I want this book to map a path that I hope is critical (not taking experience for granted, or as self-evident) but generous (careful not to trample on or invalidate peopleās hard-won experiential positions that are under attack from those who seek to erase them).

Well, here it is people, and you can download the whole thing for free - thanks to @wellcometrust.bsky.social

Came across this collection by chance this lunchtime, and so glad I did. A really lovely illustration of how art, in this case poetry, ācan offer a place where certainty and uncertainty mingleā within medicine.

Will she be ready for a meeting at 10? Is she talking about herself or her laptop? Who can say
Each morning, laptop seems to be taking longer and longer to turn on, same
Has anyone written something historical on the ā⦠for Dummiesā book series? Just seen that there is one on chronic pain(!) and now obsessed with figuring out what that means
Remembering that I actually donāt mind doing footnote formatting lol. What does that say about me
Left all my footnotes to the last minute. Will I ever learn (no)
