That is... if the alcohol users don't die from alcohol poisoning first.

Ain't that rich? 0.3% of cannabis users vomit after prolonged over-indulgance. But I'll bet over 50% of alcohol users vomit after prolonged over-indulgance.

😂 Would LOVE to have some piney weed now. It goes great with the holidays.

Your instincts are spot on. The authors stated that they needed to expand the "Woody" descriptor to include "Pine" and maybe "Sandalwood".

"Woody" was the only choice that covered ALL woody aromas, including pine in this study - "Pine" was not one of the 25 descriptors.

Me too. It's my favorite aroma in cannabis. But Pinene-dominant flower is kind of rare around here (FLA). That could be why.

Higher Total Terpene content was not associated with stronger aroma profiles.

Volatile Sulfur Compounds (VSCs) were also not associated with specific aromas, and their variation among 91 samples was small.

We should probably start looking more closely at “The Other 75%” of mass in flower 🤷

A simple pie chart against a black background depicting "Cannabis Flower Components". It shows that about 75% of cannabis flower is composed of "Other Components". Approx. 20% is cannabinoids, 4% is terpenes, 0.5% is flavonoids, and 0.5% is volatile sulfur compounds.

Some interesting recent cannabis research.

Individual Terpenes were not associated with specific aromas

…EXCEPT Terpinolene - associated with “citrus” & “chemical” aromas

Limonene was NOT associated with “citrus”

There's more to it than Terps & VSCs

If a patient tries it and finds it improves their quality of life in any way, that's perfectly well-founded for them. Just ask the parents of a child suffering from intractable epilepsy.

Tell that to all the patients who swear by cannabinoids (mostly those that DON'T get them high).

Patients don't want to get high, they just want to get better.

"Evidence" is there, just not the kind of expensive RCTs non-schedule I compounds get. Wonder why?

Most anti-cannabis articles are just poorly researched clickbait these days. It's downright embarrassing.

Almost anything really enjoyable can be problematic for SOME ppl. That's not news, is it?🤷
