They did announce before release that the Share feature would be blocked for the game - so I assume everyone who posts stuff from it is using a capture card or the like.

Thank you, this was the important detail that was missing for me to answer.

(semi-related, but there was an artist who drew a couple of things I really liked, but I could never follow them, because the other 90% of their art was sink- and toilet-girls. So, honestly, this really brought me back.)

I might come back to you about this in around 3 months... or maybe not.

Until then, I'll just second the ZATO rec (I did read it, and it was very neat).
And maybe Ten Metre Tide... yeah, I think most other short VNs I enjoyed are on the more... intense side of things, lmao

It also implies that everyone who appreciates the stories in movies more than the visuals should just read books instead because the stories in those are probably still better on average.

It's just more obvious here (compared to games) that the presentation affected the way the story was received.

I wouldn't call myself that (since there's tons of games entirely without or just a bad story that I love), but I do still play a lot of games specifically for the story and don't think a book or a movie could replace those. The storytelling and structure are just fundamentally different.

"But haven't you heard of the mobile game and the remake they released since?!" (Yeah. Same.)

Anamnesia - part 1: am i my body? on Steam Sci-Fi Mystery Visual Novel. Nine people are trapped in an underground research facility, forced to play a game of life and death. Check your log to find the truth that connects those apparent strange...

Hey there, I'm a trans dev/writer, and I made Anamnesia (Part 1), a sci-fi mystery Visual Novel, about a group of characters trapped in a game of life and death, tasked to figure out 'the truth'.

It's a mostly linear story, though it does have a neat gimmick!

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility!

Visibility implies being perceived, and so it feels like the perfect day to talk about how I decided to portray my fear of being perceived as trans in Anamnesia Part 1... kinda. (I really didn't even know I was trans, lmao)

Does it need to cost 70$ though? "Sorry, we need to make our game longer and worse so that we can sell it at an artificially chosen standard price".

I... can't really check this right now, but I think you're wrong.

I'm mostly speaking from experience with the game and can't say for sure what happened there in the anime... but I wanna say it's very likely you're misremembering?

All Gnosia decide on their target together (same as in Werewolf). So there's never more than one Victim per night - would also be kinda fucked up when you get to like 6 gnosia + 9 human rounds.

They should've made this a game instead, smh

Not for much longer.

That's ACTUALLY the excuse I'm using for dropping out after 11 games.

Honestly, maybe you SHOULD stream Zero Escape... (it's voice acted!!!)

Or at least play it yourself, that obviously also works.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but this is actually just Zero Escape spoilers.

Oh, absolutely! At least in terms of many slower paced/atmospheric games, I definitely need to be in the right headspace for them...

(so embarrassed to have you look through my posts to see that I'm using this account for absolutely everything BUT marketing!!!)

I played like ~30 minutes of it years ago and it didn't really click with me. But I was always interested in giving it another chance, so it's nice to have some additional motivation for it :D

Every Zero Escape Game:
Protag: Ow, my ass hurts-

Character: That reminds me of this story where this scientist hit his ass on the edge of a table, but didn't feel it. Then, months later, he died of ass pain. They call it Temporal Ass Pain or TAP

Protag: I'd TAP that-

Character: Say we took two asses, and we both slapped them really hard, there'd be a 56.000079% chance that one of them won't feel it. That pain didn't just get absorbed by the ass tissue, it's being transported to the future. They call people who don't feel Ass pain until later...TAPers...I wonder...if they could transport ass pain to someone else-

Zero: Ive injected Ass Poison into all of your left buttcheeks. You have exactly 2 hours to solve my Ass Slap puzzle.

tbh it's just reimagined TAP.

Imagine if Zero Escape was about how you would get out once you manage to piss yourself, and everyone is wondering why it takes them so long to need to piss, and then it's revealed that they were infected with a virus that makes them piss at a rate of โˆš6 of normal pissing.

It's called Radical-Piss.

Banger lines like "The spot three-quarters up Iโ€ฒd always touch when I was out of things to say" (fire emoji)
But yeah, that's very good summary, outside of the overuse of darling and dear and-

Funnily enough, Wildlife and RotH are also KINDA about a breakup each, but just... also so much more.

Lyrically, I do still think there is some cool stuff about how it was structured as their first attempt at a concept album. But it's certainly noticeable that their vocalist (and lyricist) was like 18 or 19 at the time this was written. I have a lot more to say about that for the next two albums.
