Hubby and I just went out for ice cream. As we sat in the shade with our cones, a family drove up and went inside, leaving their car running. They sat inside, eating, with the car still running outside. Some people are so clueless/careless about their impacts on their kids’ future. 🤯🤬🤷😭

I fully agree with this weather forecaster— cuts to many of NOAA’s resources are likely to have a negative impact on the already-tough job of forecasting severe weather, which will likely lead to greater loss of life. Thanks to King Donald. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/08/w...

This is truly a fucked up way to “fish”. Yet trawling is currently the most common industrial fishing technique.
What the hell??? These are kidnappings, plain and simple. Our federal government is kidnapping people.
When WE don't do our jobs according to the company's rules, we're FIRED. 🌊 Time to fire all corrupt SCROTUS. 💪🏼
Yes, this looks like Calycanthus.
Calycanthus sprouts fairly readily for me, does not require two years.
I can’t believe I’m living in this nightmare.

Trump administration has suspended an air-quality monitoring program at national parks across the country. The program collects data on levels of harmful air pollutants, including ozone and particulate matter, at the 63 national parks in the USA.
How in the world can a native plant be a “noxious weed”?? That certainly needs to change. I agree that it is an adorable little plant.
Wild comfrey is very, very fuzzy and does not have the varied coloration. As far as orchids go, it’s definitely not cranefly (Tipularia), but I do agree that the leaf looks orchid-like. Hope that it flowers, and then you’ll find out!
In addition to economic damage and hundreds of thousands of lost jobs, this will slow (or even prevent) our ability to effectively mitigate climate change, conduct medical research, effectively deal with environmental contaminants, develop new technologies…
What an absolute joke. What is this, April Fools? They’re a few weeks too late for that.
I love these little guys! 🥰
This literally is unconstitutional.
This is why I don’t want my kid in an Autism disease registry.

ICE can enter anyone’s home, and abduct and deport them to a foreign prison indefinitely because the DOJ says they can ignore the 4th, 5th and 15th amendments.
If there’s no due process or protections against illegal search and seizures, none of us are safe.
That actually looks like a domestic rabbit, not a wild one.
Melanie Krause is the third agency leader to step down this year, and several other top officials are expected to follow. These are not voluntary departures—public servants across the government are being forced out for resisting illegal or unethical directives.
Honey bees are domesticated animals introduced from Europe — and aren't endangered, unlike many of North America's over 3600 species of native bees. Honey bees crowd out native bees from food & spread diseases to them. Instead of adding another hive, plant native flowers!

Can anyone suggest a good primary care doctor around Charlotte/Concord/Salisbury? I have had two wonderful PCPs in recent years (one left the area and the next retired) after bouncing around among not-so-resourceful ones. Seeking one who will listen, analyze, and provide thoughtful answers!
