How have I lived for the last 50 years without hearing this?

From a TOTP I watched last night, this was the unexpected, previously unheard, highlight of a really decent show

Also, I love how many obituary photos I've seen of him wearing a 1000 Homo DJs t-shirt there are!

thugs that hung around Princes St Gardens!

I'm so pleased that he made a global impact on dance culture and was so highly rated - even back in the early days, it was clear he was meant for great things

RIP Keith

not afford!

His DJ sets before (and after) gigs at The Venuein Edinburgh were awesome, sweaty nights out, always running so late that my friend and I would miss the last train back to Glasgow, so we'd walk around Princes St for hours until the first bus/train back home, dodging the knife-wielding

He and I tried to start a band, along with our friend Jim, in 1988 but it failed after two sessions due to me having absolutely no talent and even less confidence

We'd bump into each other in Fopp and Echo Records every week or so and he was good for a chat, always recommending records I could..

I'm really sad to hear that Keith McIvor has departed this world

I knew him back in the late 80s and went to his club nights in Panama Jax and 46 West George St whenever I could afford to go which, sadly, wasn't often enough

I see what you mean about the fake American preacher, I'm uneasy with it, too, but the horn section and the female singers are good enough for (at least) one, cozy, show in one of Glasgow's best venues

I hope we can find common ground and meet up at some point!

No mark, I won't block you! We have our musical differences but what we share brings us close enough!

I know the GLC weren't (aren't) for everyone but they were for me, and I had some great times with fellow GLC fans in Bristol, Manchester and London, so I'm happy that we 'agree to disagree'!

I fucking hate the Blues Bros!

But then, again, I was a moderator on the Goldie Lookin Chain web forum for 6+ years so I, clearly, like silly music.

GLC are still, occasionally, rocking shit and I see OMGITC in the same vein. Maybe one 'hit' wonders, but I think they'll put on a decent show

Really? I thought you might be a convert?

What a shame, I was going to @ you because I thought you might appreciate them. Oh well... I fully realise that they won't be for everyone but I am really looking forward to seeing them (at least) once

Anyone with an ounce of funk in their veins, should seek solace in Funky Jesus and pray at the altar of oh My God! It's The Church whenever they can!

A week later, I've converted two of my closest friends and have 'maybe's from another two.

OMGITC might be a 'joke band' but they're funky as hell and seem to put on a GREAT show:

Not a new band, but new to me as of an hour ago...

Oh My God, It's The Church's name made me want to see if they could live up to having such a daft name and, yes, they most certainly can:

Sadly, I don't think I'll be seeing Laibach this summer - there was talk of me joining my Italian friends to see them in Nova Gorica (described, by Luca, as being the Italian/Slovenian version of West/East Berlin, which made me want to go even more) but circumstances, and flights etc, conspired :(

I'm a bit late in paying tribute to #WorldDominationEnterprises' Keith Dobson, who died a few days ago

#WDE were a tremendous band. I bought everything they did

I got to see them live when they played Rooftops in Glasgow:

One track does not a good album make, though, and I've always been sceptical about @nin.com's soundtrack work.

I don't think Trent's instrumentals are all as good as his songs, most on previous albums I just skip.

So, it's a no from me, for now at least, for the new Tron soundtrack:

I thought it was weird that Trent didn't include any new material during the European part of his current tour. This would have been an interesting addition and I think it would have gone down pretty well:

Oh, and if you didn't notice, Paul's album came with a free plastic sleeve. So that's nice!

9 months ago 0 0 0 0

... it furthers my sadness that Paul and Al fell out at the turn of the century

Sure, the Bush Trilogy are great albums but Paul's bass, and occasional vocals, realy made @weareministry an awesome band

I really look forward to hearing the last Ministry Album now that Paul has rejoined

OK, so one listen each and...

My god, it's great to hear Mark's voice again. What a loss, him leaving us so young ๐Ÿ˜ข

The album is better than I thought it might be and, with further listening, it might be rather good

Paul's album is groovier and will also become better over time

Saying that...

... to hearing them both tonight.

I suspect I'll like the Lead Into Gold album more because I've never really been a fan of Mark's work without the mind-fucking production of @onusound.bsky.social (and the new album only has Adrian's mixing on one track but we'll see, or rather hear, later tonight

#PaulBarker's album is a darker shade and a bit see-through, which I like less.

The insert is all a bit pointless, too, with the lyrics printed on the back cover in a black-on-dark-red format, making it quite difficult for for my 57yo eyes to make out in anything but direct light.

I look forward

It's been a good day, post-wise, with two new albums arriving, both on red vinyl:

#MarkStewart's (first, hopefully not last) posthumous LP, "The Fateful Symmetry" and #LeadIntoGold's "Knife The Ally"

I prefer the solid red of Mark's album and the insert has a decent statement on it while...
