As cliche as it sounds, it is foolish to think that your mindset that you have had for the longest time is set in stone. One misfortune can shake the foundations of these thoughts in an instant. I just hope even the smallest bit of good can come out of this.

External hardware and I don't know if I will ever walk the same again.

Both of my quadriceps tendons ruptured completely from both kneecaps, rendering me in severe pain and unable to really use my legs below the knee. Surgery happened this morning and is described as disabling.I am going to be bedridden for about 6 weeks with external hardware. See next post for pic.

They gave me a walker and told me there was "no medical reason" for my pain to be so high. After literally crying out and screaming, they admitted me to a hospital but also waited another day for the MRI I desperately needed.

I hate to say it, but size bias is alive and well in US medical facilities. My left knee gave out 5 stairs up from a concrete floor and I smashed both knees into it. Take ambulance to ED. Unfortunately these days, games are no longer released in an optimized state. It seems lucky that it isn't just broken on release. I usually wait to buy games like this till like a month passes since release. I get that would put someone behind everyone else in a game like BF6 tho

Oh that's good. Luckily, the older the laptop, the easier it is to find a replacement screen IMHO. But it's even better that you didn't break it.

Hopefully not, but depending on the type of laptop, the screen may be somewhat cheap and easy to replace. At work, if the screen is not behind a glass layer and not a touchscreen, screen replacements are the easiest repair we do.
