I miss when social stuff like this was tiny snapshots - micro thoughts.
Can we go back to checking in to foursquare, pictures of food and "did a big yawn this morning" style social media?

‘What’s your order number?!’
I JUST CLICKED FROM THE EMAIL YOU SENT ME - YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS…
A photo would help…
Something about those remind me of the game Samorost. Really lovely
Just like being in the big apple.
Never let me go
BUT - I’m not sure that’s what the focus of Axure is. I think it’s supposed to be quick. I think it wants to take you far enough to answer questions and keep moving forward without getting too deep in to the weeds of your designs
I’m trying to understand the best way to support our existing design library in Axure. It allows for some of the functionality that Figma provides, but falls short with tokenization and real depth and flexibility
I’ve used Figma for quite a while, and I really enjoy using it. For work I’m having to learn Axure RP and retune my brain in to how it works and what it’s good (and not so good) at
Thanks for this list. I've read UX team of one, which is excellent - but really need to put effort in to not just reading the thoughts and opinions of yet another white man in UX!
I got lost in this essay by @aresluna.org about ‘Gorton’, the font carved in to the history of the modern world.

I’m working in a ‘serious’ sector - when other new starters were giving their work history and mentioned very important sounding titles, roles and responsibilities I enjoyed countering it with “yeah, I used to make games and stuff and most recently messed around with Wallace and Gromit”
Back in Bristol after a week in Edinburgh for my new job.
It’s my first official ‘full UX’ role after deciding to re-focus from general design and programming focussed roles.
Edinburgh is an incredible city, amazing architecture etc - but highlight was vegan Vietnamese food on my own in the hotel
I sometimes change the default output to somewhere else, but then I get a new machine and forgot to change it for about 3 years.
I know there's better tools out there - but the muscle memory of shortcut keys and then dragging the snapshot preview in to notion / document is too easy that I just stick with it. I rarely annotate them, so rarely a need for shottr etc but better organization of the files is probably needed
a Mac desktop covered in screenshot icons
I like to keep my Mac desktop clear.
I'm not sure how relevant it is these days, but it used to be that having the desktop littered with files slowed down boot times.
However, when I'm documenting a project and taking screenshots, it ends up covered in these icons
I’m in Edinburgh for induction with my new job.
This time last year I made the decision to move out away from games and focus on UX. This week I’ve started a new role as senior UX designer in a field that couldn’t be further from games.
It’s been a bit of a journey but proud to have got here.
omg, STOP it.
Edinburgh hits different.
Edinburgh goes hard on the “oh yeah, I’m basically just a film set” vibes.
Oh I’ve stopped doing any games things. I once downloaded Godot about 2 years ago, but never had a chance to use it.
Awesome. Nice to see it growing all the time.
I just thought he looked cool :) nice to have something to work with that doesn’t make you question the value of the human race.
is that the official Godot mascot? Looks ace!
For every bit of content the user sees there are countless decisions that need to be made of how the content gets delivered.
I'm pleased with how the UX side has turned out for the website - but I'm more pleased with how I've built the backend of it.
you can have a super lovely LMS product but if it's an absolute dog to use and manage the content on the backend then it's not going to be used effectively - and that will impact the end user.
Projects like these always start with the client 100% focussed on the front end product - the thing their users will see.
But for products like an LMS, the end user experience is only as strong as the backend system that allows the content creators to really engage with the system.
I've spent the last few weeks working on a client project, designing the UX and building a learning management system (LMS). It's been a real juggle of creative, technical and systems thinking.
“Wow, what a goal! Let’s see that again in…”
Nice one!
