3.7 K/9! Wow.
Easy. Bo Jackson. The man ran for 200+ and 3TDs in the Kingdome, then came back and made one of the best outfield assists ever to get Harold Reynolds at home in the same building. Bo was a divisional rival *twice* and you still couldn’t hate him.
So, the problem here is that you essentially made the Padres go to Mason Miller who is On One right now. No complaints about how the M’s dealt with Miller; he’s not dealable right now. The problem came far earlier. Clean it up, get back after it, and beat Texas.
Gross, Mariners. No thank you.
Like other have said, I think it’s Maximinus Thrax, so 235-240ad.
But also the Astros most definitely are not fixed yet. Both are important, and if we can’t have one, I at least want the other. If the A’s or whoever go nuts this year, good for them. But I need the M’s to be pretty good and the Astros to be worse than that.
The shift from variety shows and recognizable jingles to build brand identity to animal mascots is a result of the growth of “cute animal videos” and then social media posts reflects a shift in the location of “authenticity” in an era of rampant fraud. In this paper, we will…
You could have given me 100 guesses and I would not have come up with that. Wow.
I mean, I didn’t *want* it; they made me very angry and they seemed to override the preceding 8 innings in a way that felt wrong, almost disrespectful of one’s teammates. But man, that was just part of the M’s. Griffey/Edgar/Buhner/Arod would do stuff, and you hoped it was enough.
Nice win, Mariners. Great comeback and nice job by Muñoz pushing through when he obviously didn’t have his best command. Something Bryan Abreu was unable to do.
They were just a fact of life! Saw a reference to an opening day Rangers comeback and instantly thought “the Mike Schooler game” and this game was my first ballgame date with my now wife. The essence of Mariner fan life, especially in the 90s. www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/SEA/SE...
Yeah, I see that with small breweries a lot. Very cool that you get to be the testing grounds.
Atta boy, Cal Raleigh.
What’s your take on all of the proprietary hops these days and their increasing share of total hops sold to brewers?
The Marathon near me is $5.49/gallon and that’s with a Marathon refinery in-state. Things like proximity are dwarfed by taxes and other factors. As you can probably guess, I’m not in the southeast.
Definitely not a pitcher
Randy Arozarena has just hit an upper deck tank at T-Mobile. He holds the pose shown here, left foot forward, bat high. It’s not a bat flip, it’s statuesque, which is appropriate for the day the M’s unveiled a statue at the stadium. There is no malfunction in this celebration, however.
This was at least as cool a way to celebrate a dinger. Instead of a bat flip, Randy just held this pose. Old school. Demure, and yet dominant.
Shohei Ohtani with a wide eyed look like he cannot believe what you just skeeted.
Or I guess, what would cause an immediate defensive turnaround, going not just back to average, but flying past it? Familiarity with parks would seem to matter more for OFs. Positioning? Mental strain of trying to hit big league pitching for the first time?
Lots of caveats; it’s early, and DRS was the one system that wasn’t appalled by Young’s defense last year. But every system sees a turnaround, and it makes it easier for him to become a good every day regular.
Also: this happened with Bobby Witt jr. What would cause an early defensive collapse?
Wait, you represented the Coingate guy?!
Low key charming

Would feel so much better if Seattle had taken one of their chances, too.
I don’t really care at all about the subject matter, and I was hooked too.
Thank you. Josh.
Cole Young. What a start to the year. Kid could adopt the Cole Palmer celebration thing, though it’s always weird to bite someone else’s move.
Agreed. That said, I tend to blurt out “scraping over nachos and a microbrew” whenever anyone at the table gets nachos, and that’s good for one of those Get It moments too.
But….Underdogs of Nipomo is better.
If yo use see this, post a concert photo you took.
