I can't tell if this is a commentary on people's political literacy or just their...literacy.

BTW, I say this as someone who's generally very sympathetic to the campaign's core defense, which is that the swing states where they competed drifted much less Republican than in non-swing states (which points to a strong campaign in a rough political environment).
Good questions by @danpfeiffer.bsky.social but ultimately a really disappointing / almost smug interview by senior Harris campaign.
Just one example: Quentin Fulks claiming they matched or exceeded Biden's vote share with black voters. Not true!

me reading the Trump indictment recording transcript
no one cares, maggie
At the risk of sounding like the SNL Lester Holt sketch, I think we might actually have got him this time.
Just seems to me that putting a former President in jail for being on tape explaining his crimes might be healthier for the country than being afraid of the possible temper tantrums from people who want to breathe wildfire smoke straight from the ashtray.
Thanks, will check it out.
Yeah, I think they’ve botched it. bsky.app/profile/jaypinho.bsky.so...
Is there a Python implementation? I looked through the ATProto docs and found all the federation stuff pretty confusing.
There's a spectrum from "zero exclusivity / open door policy" on one end to "completely closed doors" on the other end.
Bluesky is basically in the latter camp. Where you want to be is somewhere in the middle, with just enough waiting to stoke a frenzy but not so slow people forget about you.
Precisely.

If you're a Republican presidential candidate, exactly what is your long-term play here? Keep defending your biggest rival for the presidency all the way until he wraps up the nomination?

Just not in the way Jessica Lessin anticipated in her (since-deleted) tweet: web.archive.org/web/20230208215948/https...
The funny thing is that some will take this ruling as proof that the Court retains the ability to surprise / it's not entirely political, while others (e.g. me) will take it as proof that political pressure (FDR-style or otherwise) works on the Supreme Court just like anything else.
I am deeply uncertain about many things in the future, but one thing I'm just about 100% on is that Mike Pence has absolutely no chance of being the GOP presidential nominee.

This - but also my expectation is that Armstrong and CZ will amp up culture war rhetoric too (e.g. 'woke regulators,' etc.) with an eye towards the media diet of the relevant SCOTUS justices.
I think the nature of TV news and CNN in particular makes the channel unfixable. Licht was incompetent, but Zucker was much worse because he *was* competent.
Zucker has done more to contribute to the gamification / trivialization of American politics than just about anyone else. He's been *explicit* about politics being like sports to him. He had an undisclosed relationship with a subordinate. He advised politicians while his network covered them.
Licht notwithstanding, this is the most unintentionally damning thing about the whole CNN situation.

maybe we should ban murder too? can't believe no one thought of this.
i was today years old when i learned you can simply...ban regulatory capture.
that's it! problem solved, everyone.
OK, fine: 2.59 seconds.
This is minor, but detecting a changed sentence in 22 seconds is just about the worst possible example of AI's usefulness. A standard laptop running Python could probably do the same in < 1 second, I'd guess.
