The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon has taken a new form in recent years. Before, when a newly learned concept seemed to appear everywhere all of a sudden, it was simply a cognitive bias. Now, thanks to engagement algorithms, people *really are* experiencing these high frequencies. But it's no more real.

I did Osaka/Hiroshima/Kyoto/Tokyo with 2-3 days each and that pace felt right. Pacing out the shinkansen trips and sticking to short/medium trips in between gave us time to take in each location.

Hiroshima worth it but I agree with others that the 4 day stretch seems packed. If you're going to Nara for the deer, consider that Miyajima (day trip from Hiroshima) also has friendly deer and is a beautiful island.

I'm sticking with it, I've seen enough testimonials about how it really opens up! But it's testing my patience... many of the great games it's been compared to have a compelling main loop or setting which kept me hooked before I discovered the meta-mechanics. Drafting rooms is kinda boring?

About 5 hours and 10 runs into Blue Prince... still not clicking for me yet. I'm taking note of all the clues I'm seeing, but so far they mostly seem like material for puzzles I haven't unlocked yet. I've made some neat discoveries but none felt particularly earned, just stumbled upon.
