Moar Fill-In Friday!
Building permit issued this week for a 75 unit apartment building with some first floor commercial in Downtown West. Part of a larger plan for mixed-use rehab/new construction near the soccer stadium. Biggest component would be a mixed-use mass timber tower of 29 stories.

Two story home under construction with scaffolding ready for brick exterior application. Pallets of brick in front. Next door is an older brick home with an addition in back that isn't very visible.
Bricks at the ready for Fill-In Friday!
The builder of this two-story infill home also rehabbed (with an rear addition) the adjacent 19th century oldie that was long vacant and threatened with demolition after a big fire. Nice!
First floor framing has begun on an infill home. Part of adjacent two story red brick exterior residences are visible.
Happy Fill-In Framing Friday! Walls going up on an infill home in St. Louis Hills. I suspect this will have a brick exterior but we’ll see.
I hope this post finds you well.
Mainly though I just hope it finds you.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

This is a uniquely American Horror Story.
i feel bad for our country but this is tremendous content
Besides Falstaff, Queen Katherine. Hamlet, and Lady Macbeth are depicted on the William Shakespeare statue in Tower Grove Park. Sculpted by Ferdinand Von Miller II, Dedicated 1878.
Lady Macbeth, whatshername, and one other!
Front of the Shakespeare statue with a relief of Falstaff on the base.
Tower Grove Park Tuesday!
Falstaff gets star billing, but do you know what other characters are memorialized on the Shakespeare staute? No cheating!
The answer coming up in a bit....
It's such a neat complex and I'm glad Willert has been taking care of it.
Good news, St. Louis; a new day dropped! Happy Smokestack Saturday to all who celebrate!
(Not a great pic but the smokestacks at the old, massive Liggett & Myers Tobacco complex are getting cleaned and/or tuckpointed.)
Hello, I made you a feed of your cats watching the Artemis II splashdown bsky.app/profile/did:...
Not sure if it needed more approvals or not.
👀
Franz Sigel statue in Forest Park. The Major General is on horseback. Inscription: "To Remind Future Generations Of the Heroism of the German-American Patriots St. Louis and Vicinity in the Civil War of 1861-1865."
Sigel Elementary School designed by William Ittner. Built 1906.
Listing pic from a recently sold 1910 2 story wood frame home on Sigel Avenue.
Sigel wasn't a great military leader but boy do we all owe him a debt of gratitude and the thousands of German-American St. Louisians who rallied under him for the cause of freedom. He died in 1902 and St. Louis shortly thereafter dedicated a statue, school and I believe a street to him.
Sigel spotted! Wir mit Sigel!
oh, man.
Yup. And generally older than the brickers.
Smaller 1.5 story wood frame home with heavy fires damage seen on the second floor. Yellow caution tape is in front of the house and a condemnation sign is posted on the home.
uugh; a vacant 1892 home in TGS had a bad fire and I’d say its future is in peril. I’d be more optimistic if it didn't have more difficult site issues than typical. We’ll see.
I had to laugh but not really when the guy said that the Chemical Building would have to be torn down if the bill isn't passed. 🙄
Massive devastation following the Israeli strikes across Lebanon.
Homes destroyed. Communities shattered. Many lives lost.
Children reported among the victims.
Civilians, in particular children, must be protected at all times, and international humanitarian law must be fully respected.
Guess I should have mentioned Lebanese families as well.
Here's another interesting result from last night.
Pretty great night for area elections. We had just about everything, including a 1 vote win and a write-in candidate win!
Substantively, it was good to see conservative St. Charles County continuing to recede from extremism. And STL's earnings tax soundly won again as expected. 👍
yay!
I'll go with an even 10%
Do you have to do whole numbers or can you do something like 7.01%?
