Dr. Maria I. Khan, NYKids Research Collaborator, is a  Fulbright Scholar and an education policy researcher specializing in improvement science, student success, higher education leadership, systemness, and international educational development. She currently serves as a Senior Research Associate at the National Association of Higher Education Systems (NASH).

Paul Guay is a doctoral student in School Psychology at the University at Albany and a research assistant with NYKids. He is currently training in alternative school settings throughout the Capital District, with a focus on culturally responsive counseling and assessment. Paul’s research explores how technology can transform early literacy interventions - making them more personalized, engaging, and impactful for struggling readers. When he’s not analyzing data or working with students, you’ll likely find him behind a drum kit with his band, spending time with his family, or throwing a frisbee with his sheltie.
