I’ve been reading through Murderbot at an alarming rate these past few days, and OMG they are so good. Currently on System Collapse. It’s been such a pleasure to read, all the highs and lows and wondering who Murderbot it and what it wants. (also, ART/Peri is my favorite character, hands down)

Currently Reading – April 2026 I love The Stand. So let’s talk about all the ways this book annoys the crap out of me!

If you ever wanted to listen to me yap about The Stand for 1100 words, now you can! In 4k HD even!

Here's why I have problems with this book in 2026, why 12-year-old me didn't care, and why I love it anyway.

Proud to have been listed as one of Trans in the City's inaugural trans changemakers. It's been a challenging year for us all, but have relished the opportunity to be on the front lines trying to fight for trans human rights.

I’ve been reading Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds and boy oh boy has it just been one treat after another. I can’t believe it took me this long to run into his books (I read Galactic North last year and absolutely fell in love with it)

Writing has been going well. "Hunger" is no longer a novella, but a novel, and "The Secrets We Keep" has been put on the back burner until further notice. I was just struggling with the story and realized that maybe it wasn't the type of story I wanted to be telling.

I recently read "The Gods Themselves" by Isaac Asimov, and now I'm reading "Revelation Space" by Alastair Reynolds and "All Systems Red" by Martha Wells. I'll get some posts up about them soon. But I'm enjoying the books so far. The Gods Themselves was... interesting.

Looking forward to getting back in the game this year. I’ve got a great outline coming together for Hunger (potentially a novel now?) and am getting a reading list together for the new year (late to the game but life you know?) if everything goes to plan, I could have a first draft in a few months!

I’ve been gone for a while, but that’s because of life. I’m hoping to get on here a bit more and start re-engaging with the writing community and getting some writing done!

and seeing him be unable to change the path of jihad was so cool. The fight with the Harkonnen was fun. Overall I feel like the ending worked so well with the rest of the story. I kind of want to pick up the next one, but maybe another day.

Okay, just finished Dune the other day. WOW! Thoroughly enjoyed reading this story beginning to end. The way the author handled his ability to see into multiple futures was awesome. His sister was weird and I loved it. The final battle was cool! Seeing him develop and fit into the roll they needed…

The lesson here is have good principles and stand on them. Stand for something that isn't power!

Another big endorsement for Andrew Cuomo. And it only cost $959 million in tax breaks.

The Unbound (RIP) edition of The Scottish Boy which absolutely sold so so well on word of mouth (check out its deluge of Amazon reviews) imagine what would happen if it had ~marketing~ ALSO the book has great illustrations by Trungles

My agent is @tinyfairyhunter.bsky.social so if you are an editor of an imprint thinking “I wish romantasy was queerer / more m/m and also had incredible, immersive worldbuilding that brought a medieval era viscerally to life” HAVE I GOT GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, also I have plans for 2 more similar books

Life has been busy, but all of our stuff is physically in our new place. Now we exhausted unpacking everything into the new place for the next few days.

A screenshot of a post on X that reads:

Cuomo, talking to conservative radio host Sid Rosenberg this morning:

"God forbid, another 9/11—can you imagine Mamdani in the seat?" Cuomo asks.

"He'd be cheering," Rosenberg says.

Cuomo paused and chuckled before saying: "That's another problem."

Just disgusting.

I haven’t been on in a while, needless to say a lot going on personally (moving to another state, starting a new job), so haven’t had the bandwidth for writing and posting. Hopefully in the coming weeks I’ll be freed up for November and can work on my book!

Looking out through a screened porch, pale early morning sky. There are overgrown hollyhocks and other bushy greenery that have lost their flowers for the year. Past them are green trees just barely starting to lose their leaves. In the foreground inside the porch is a copper fountain in the shape of a leafy vine.

Back home for two days, then off again.

It's been over a dozen years but every now and then I think about how my 11th grade English teacher told me I couldn't submit my short story for an assignment cause the story took place over like 6 months. She said short stories can only take place in a short period of time, like a few hours.
