Well… “Evidence!” by Deborah Hopkinson and Nik Henderson is as brilliant as I hoped it would be. It follows Dr Jon Snow on a race against time to find the source of a cholera outbreak. Full of clues and deduction, it’s a great story about the importance of Science and Evidence . #PicturebookPage
I know lots of people use “Rose Blanche” when they study World Wars but here is a blog of other picturebooks I would use, all are true stories, wonderfully told and illustrated. They are powerful and moving and about the small actions that make a difference. smithsmm.wordpress.com/2023/12/29/u...
Have just finished rewriting the overview for a weekly picturebook assembly which focuses on equality, diversity and inclusion. It's still a work in progress but please feel free to use and adapt. All shares appreciated! The link is on my Padlet: padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/r...
The Greenling by Levi Pinfold was very effective in y6. We got some fantastic discursive texts from that. The pictures are just 🤩
Someone shared this on the other site.
Might be helpful at this time of year? #EduSky #UKed

About time I shared something educational. This is probably my favourite resource that I’ve made: weekly book talk questions that we discuss and write responses to. I put all their answers in a scrapbook afterwards📖
