We now know a government report warning that biodiversity loss threatens the foundations of our lives was suppressed for months.
Preparedness begins with honesty. The public has a right to know the risks — and government must start telling the truth.

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.
Sand dredging is killing Lough Neagh. I've signed this petition calling on Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins to introduce a moratorium on sand dredging in NI today - will you sign too? @actnowcampaigns.bsky.social my.actnowni.org/petitions/in...
Sickening!!
"Generation from wind power in Great Britain reach record levels for the first quarter of 2026, with almost 30 Terrawatt-hours (TWh) produced." www.edie.net/wind-generat...
100% right, by robbing us of employment they will make a new lumpen proletariat which they think they can control and manipulate, driving a race to the bottom in terms of wages and forcing people into jobs they wouldn’t ordinarily want to do. Tech-slavery to the tech-bros.
Thanks indeed to @financialtimes.com for publishing me on the anti-US turn of the European right. From moderate conservatives to nationalist radicals, it is nimbly shifting towards a politics of autonomy. The centre and left must move fast - or risk being outflanked.

Thank you @billmckibben.bsky.social for making this article, it contains GWs of concentrated hope! I felt a hell of a lot better after reading it. Granted the fight against Big Oil is by no means over, but this article proves 100,000% that they are dinosaurs drowning in a tar pit.
_"The Government’s consistent cheerleading for data centre expansion has reached a point of reckless disconnect from the economic reality of Irish citizens... Irish families are paying nearly double the electricity rates of these industrial facilities, effectively subsidizing the massive energy consumption of global tech giants while struggling with a punishing cost-of-living crisis." https://greenparty.ie/news/uncritical-expansion-data-centres-will-fuel-social-inequality-and-energy-crisis-cllr-hazel-chu
Data centres uses 32% of Ireland's total electricity supply but pay almost less than half of the residential rate. So we're effectively subsidizing tech giants during a cost of living & energy crisis. Meanwhile this Govt continues to cheerlead their expansion & continue to fail in their obligations.
Greens in Northern Ireland up to record polling now at 5%. Which translates as 10-12% in Belfast. Continual growth over the past 12 months.
We keep right at it, offering an unashamedly left wing alternative to the Stormont Shambles.
Make Hope Normal Again.
He’s 60 so he’s well old enough to remember
I listened to BBC Ulster Radio’s Talkback show yesterday. Debate was on drilling more North Sea oil & gas. 2 people from the oil industry vs 1 Green Party NI leader. Totally unbalanced, on the evidence above it seems like the Beeb has been infiltrated by the fossil fuel industry.
Is it not supposed to be “region”? Since cloud infrastructure is commonly deployed across multiple regions, us-east-1, eu-west-1, etc…
Critical Atlantic current significantly more likely to collapse than thought
- Scientists say finding is ‘very concerning’ as collapse would be catastrophic for Europe, Africa and the Americas

The #AMOC by 2100 will thus be so weak (~8 Sv) that it is very likely on the way to full shutdown, as our study last year showed: iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1...
In my view, this now makes a full #AMOC shutdown more likely than not. Definitely not a low likelihood risk, as we used to think.
Extraordinary that nowhere in an article on resilience did PM find space to include the growing threat posed to UK security by the dramatic decline in the health of nature around the world - especially since his own intelligence chiefs have recently spelt it out for him in no uncertain terms 👇
Daniel Levy, a former member of Israel’s negotiation team during the Oslo accords, wrote in The Guardian that the “Greater Israel” project must be stopped. Levy noted that one thing is clear: “Donald Trump has no plan. Benjamin Netanyahu does.”

Pennycooks opposition to rent controls was welcomed by Kurt Mueller - Britain's largest listed private landlord
Labour's housing minister's opposition to rent controls welcomed by the country's largest private landlord.
Who's side are Labour on? Renters or landlords. The answer is here.
Hang on a minute, I lived in Denmark for years and there’s a massive waste incinerator in Copenhagen: big.dk/projects/cop... It used to drive me nuts watching all the smoke coming out of it. Please quote the source of the info.
What an absolute disgrace, the managers who said this should be sacked.
One of the many things I love about @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the @greenparty.org.uk is they want to build a better, fairer country for everyone.
It's refreshing when Labour, Tory and Reform seem completely disinterested in helping so many different communities and groups of people.
If the #JCB Family of Multi-Millionaires are so hard up to pay proper Inheritance Taxes, why are they able to donate SO MUCH MONEY to #Reform Party?
Oh ... so they have expectations of #Reform helping out the Multi-Millionaires?
Right. Noted.
"Party of the People", eh?🤮🤮
Hundreds of people should not be facing potential terrorism charges simply for holding placards, especially after a court ruling that the proscription of the organisation they were supporting is unlawful. That's not how democracy is supposed to work.
www.theguardian.com/environment/... At what point does the survival of the majority outweigh the greed of the fossil fuel rich? At what point do we start a global general strike and mass civil disobedience to save ourselves from this greed-driven polycrisis?
.
With the fuel crisis going on at the minute you'd think our MPs could manage to elevate themselves above relatively unimportant matters. Apparently not. The thing is people vote these MPs in then wonder why nothing changes but somehow can't connect the two.
