Maryland parents of stillborn babies could soon get $1,000 tax credit Parents have fought for years to get monetary relief from state legislators.

Persistence is its own reward. Couldn't be prouder to pass this important bill just hours before the clock hit midnight on sine die. I was honored to work with an incredible group of stillbirth parents, who came to Annapolis year after year. This is their victory.

Maryland Sets March 11 Hearings on iGaming, Multi-State Online Poker and Sweepstakes Ban | Gambling Insider Lawmakers in Maryland will revisit online gambling expansion next month, with hearings scheduled for March 11 on three internet gaming bills introduced by Sen.

Not every day that I appear in Gambling Insider, but honored that they featured my bill to crack down on illegal off-shore gambling. Illegal gambling is rife with fraud. Let's support our MD casinos, MD unions, & MD-licensed sports betting apps.

The No Kings Act has passed! My legislation with Del. @lcharkoudian.bsky.social has now passed in both chambers (in slightly different forms). EVERY Marylander should have the right to vindicate their constitutional rights in court.

"Sen. Jeff Waldstreicher defended Ahn’s appointment by saying there was no conflict of interest. He also recalled Ahn’s record of service to his school district during the pandemic."

Youth charging reform bill clears key hurdle in Maryland Senate The bill -- a compromise that shortens the list of crimes that automatically result in adult charges -- passed out of the Maryland Senate’s Judicial Proceedings Committee on Friday.

“The new secretary has changed the culture of the department, has changed the policies of the department, and is committed not to an ideological vision--but to a vision of safety and rehabilitation,” Waldstreicher said.

House votes mostly on party lines, approves three emergency immigration measures - Maryland Matters The House passed three more bills Thursday aimed at challenging the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement activities, voting mostly along party lines for the emergency measures.

“I believe that this bill is 100% constitutional, but the most important thing is that it’s the right thing to do,” Waldstreicher said.

Waldstreicher conceded that some of the bills “will have constitutional risks,” but added that, “These are dire times.”

Always a thrill to join with @momsdemandaction.org on their lobby day! Together, we can ban DIY machine guns, end access to guns by domestic abusers, & reform our handgun roster board. Community safety is a policy choice, & we have the power to choose it.
