It has been a week!

I’ve spent 25 years with grad student instincts—you never pass up free food. Now I need to unlearn this and find ways to consume less.

Something I did not anticipate when I moved into an associate dean role is how much eating is part of the job.

Not only is my time less flexible so it is harder to cook, but there is a lot of travel and ceremonial events and it adds up!

Humanity: it is generally bad to cook people.

MSP: but what if we do it slowly?

Humanity: why would you do that…

MSP: don’t look for reasons, just enjoy the experience of sweating for 4 hours before getting fed like sausage into a metal tube for another 6 hours.

I generally enjoy flying and the airport experience but MSP needs to turn on the air conditioning. It has been 3 months of cooking in the world’s largest easy bake oven.

In my foreign policy class I have a side by side table of issues major approaches to foreign policy throughout US history.

One thing I’ve observed is that Americans hate education and educated people.

When students explain their studies to non-university affiliated folks, invariably the reaction is mockery or some snarky attack implying the student is making a mistake.

There is no ”right” answer. People just suck.

I’m not sure they have thought through the mechanics of wing retrieval. It is going to have an effect on clothing similar to hulking out which (assuming one wants to avoid this) keeps your wardrobe options limited to backless ballgowns.

Knowing how tattoos work, I’m skeptical about this proposed storage system, but they were both convinced that such an arrangement would be “sick”

A young couple next to me at a restaurant are discussing flying dreams and they both agree that fairy wings are not good wings because they are not well suited for battle.
