MassDOT secretary Tibbits-Nutt steps down, MBTA chief Eng announced as interim replacement - The Boston Globe Tibbits-Nutt will stay on as an "advisor" through the end of the year before returning to private industry.

This is incredibly exciting! Looking forward to what Eng does as interim MassDOT Secretary.

A great city needs leadership that shares our values, leadership that can anticipate the future and ensure that all residents share in it. A leader brave enough to stand up to bullies & blaze the path forward. That’s why I’m voting for @wutrain.bsky.social Mayor Wu on primary day.

Good discussion here

Has anyone done studies on Connecticut? I feel like the only person who looked into (and rode) CTtransit buses when they were free from 2022 to 2023. It was incredibly successful!

LIVE: Harvard rally for international students YouTube video by Reuters

Trump's attacks on Harvard are unlawful and unconstitutional. I was proud to stand with my international friends and peers at yesterday's Students for Freedom rally near Harvard Yard. Watch my speech here:

In Massachusetts our clean energy climate plan is being implemented by the #mapoli MBTA removing these zero emissions trolley buses, dragging its feet on rail electrification & incentivizing auto trips by slow walking the Red Blue Connector.

As Trump responds to Harvard's rejection of his demands by freezing $2 billion in funding, the University must work with its newly mobilized community to have the best chance at winning this fight.

We Need a Paradigm Shift in Our Approach to Street Safety | Opinion | The Harvard Crimson These crashes are not tragic anomalies, but indicators that something preventable failed — and crucially, can be fixed. Through measurable and outcome-based transformations, we can reshape the streets...

✍️ New from me in @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social:

John Corcoran’s death last year was a moment for mourning, but it also signified the importance of transformation.

We need a paradigm shift in our approach to street safety.

Should a bright, warm day on Newbury St. mean hundreds of people squeeze onto the sidewalk next to noisy, congested cars? I don’t think so.

We should look into pedestrianizing this area, allowing everyone to enjoy the streetscape, like we do in the summer! @mayorwu.boston.gov

I can’t believe it - after years of advocacy, exclusionary zoning has ended in Cambridge.

We just passed the single most comprehensive rezoning in the US—legalizing multifamily housing up to 6 stories citywide in a Paris style

Here’s the details 🧵

Several years ago, I was displaced from Somerville when my rent was raised hundreds of dollars. Today, I'm announcing my run for Mayor of Somerville in order to ensure that we can have a city that is more affordable, more accountable, and more accessible for all.

This is what can happen when transit advocates, workers, and strong leadership coalesce. The positive strides the @mbta.com has made over the past 18 months to overcome systemic agency dysfunction has been notable. Time to continue to build upon that success.

It's time to say it: The T is working again. But we aren't in the clear. State leaders must commit to ensuring the MBTA's long-term stability.

At the same time, our state leaders must ensure the T remains sustainable, safe, and solvent. After all, they saddled the agency with debt after the Big Dig. This year is a real opportunity with Gov. Healey's $8 billion transportation funding proposal.

The MBTA has had to reckon with an increasingly dysfunctional system as its ridership struggled after the pandemic. GM Phil Eng's leadership over the last two years addressed these issues and delivered faster, more reliable service.
