There’s definitely a phenomenon where critics get tired of a genre well before audiences do and then miss, or worst pander, good films that arrived late in their cycles. It happened with Film Noir, Westerns, Action Films, Rom-Coms, and probably super hero films today
I can give a right answer: that stuff has more salt than a Gatorade
This Bowie remix sounds lit
In my experience that’s “I want to support you but don’t want to pay more than $5.” I’ve found success selling my sketches to people like that. Even stuff I feel is crap moves because it’s priced cheap and they just want to toss some nominal support my way
I don’t know how it is elsewhere, but engagement-wise it’s not too far off from what I’d get from Instagram, but while plenty of artists have moved over, the cultural institutions have not. No galleries, no museums, no markets looking for vendors. I’m hoping more try these spaces out
I’m down to BlueSky & Cara for art stuff. Still holding out hope for Mastodon, but I’ll give it another year before trying there again
