We are working to gather more information, working to reach the family, and providing legal support. It is important to reiterate that all law enforcement agents must have a judicial warrant or judicial subpoena to access non-public areas of the University, including housing, classrooms, and areas requiring CUID swipe access. An administrative warrant is not sufficient. If law enforcement agents seek entry to non-public areas of the University, ask the agents to wait to enter any non-public areas until contacting Public Safety. Public Safety will contact the Office of the General Counsel to coordinate the University's response. Do not allow them to enter or accept service of a warrant or subpoena. This isn’t long ago or far away. This is here and now.

So I was upstairs earlier now i'm downstairs and the thermometer I have just outside a window here says -4. So i'm guessing it was closer to -6 than to -20 seeing how that's one heck of a temperature rise in a short amount of time when the sun really hasn't been up all that long.

So we don't know if weather service cuts have to do with the different weather websites, reporting such vastly different temperatures or maybe on one of them, AI reported the windchill as the actual temperature but we noticed that's a big difference, 14 degrees difference.

This Caturday morning weather sites are reporting temps as far apart as -6 and -20 as the current temp in our locale.

Seems a wide discrepancy!

Our hope today is all stay warm.

1. It's annoying how many political fundraising emails assume I buy $5 coffees regularly.

2. It sucks how many billionaires apparently read dystopian novels and say "hey, what a great idea."

3. It's early in the day but my brain is telling me these two things are not completely unrelated.

Going to say that even if one gets serious about big companies buying up houses and charging high rent to live in them, another problem is so many houses getting bought up in affordable neighborhoods to be "flipped".
Whether or not those become rentals, they're no longer affordable.

Right now, in many locations, winter would be a good reason.
