Tesla chargers just require a credit card tap. Evie chargers allow you to set up auto charging (once you have used the service once, allowing Evie to ID your car) so from then on, you can pull up, plug in and charging starts automatically. High tech indeed.
We have panels/battery/EV. Savings are in the replacement of fuel costs with home charging. I'm running a spreadsheet that uses my pre-solar energy budget + fuel budget less my month on month electricity bill to work out a payback period. Solar setup to be paid back in 3 yrs - 10 years for the car.
I left the state for 3 weeks and came back to find we had elected a TV presenter as Lord Mayor. Putting TV talking heads in governmental positions has unfortunate precedent. 😐
