What a delight to see a charmingly sinister Jennifer Jason Leigh on High Potential this week.

3 unbeatable seasons in a row, #SchoolSpirits has pulled off another incredible finale. Always such a great job of introducing narrative elements and characters, bringing them together in dynamic, and always expanding their sandbox for the next big mystery. Can’t wait for Season 4.

The cats in this game are a huge bonus tbh.

It’s perfectly fine to say “this isn’t for me. I don’t enjoy this.” But the default position being “let me tell them what will make this game fit my expectations and opinions” makes little sense to me. Railing against the wind most of the time.

Not to say companies can’t make poor, profit-driven decisions, because of course they do, but I think it’s arrogant as hell to act as if your every idea or opinion about a game is an objective fact that should be implemented. Accept things for what they are, and you’ll be much more satisfied in life

Maybe it’s naive or altruistic of me, but I believe most game devs care about the thing they are creating. That they are examining the possibilities, making hard choices, and making something they believe in. Video games are art. No artist needs your opinion on what would make their art “better.”

Far too many gamers think that their every opinion counts as useful or constructive criticism, that their idea is The Way It Should Be. I find that exhausting and obnoxious. To me, games are art, and you don’t expect art to fit your whims.

I dunno, I just accept things for what they are. Maybe it’s because I grew up in a time with no post-release updates, when a game release meant that was the game and nothing was going to change. I don’t think my favorite games are perfect, but I see no point in dwelling on my perceived imperfections

Made some new friends. Really enjoying this game.
