1) It has created a movement to ban X on sites like reddit or cancel your account. This is spilling over into Meta, too, and will lower the influence these platforms have. 2) It is creating a resistance movement that helps people be a part of something larger. That can be powerful.

Speaking of muscle memory and pleasant memories, I've also gotten back into StarCraft 2 and play nearly daily trying to do the "Bronze to GM" climb. Just hit plat, although that might stand for "plateau" in my case...

Also most don't know this but my college job in the early 00s was as a sysadmin for a tiny ISP, but I've hardly touched that since. Deploying an Ubuntu AWS instance to run my model is bringing back a lot of fun memories, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how the muscle memory is coming back!

I've also had a ton of fun being a programmer again and learning new domains.

Being a startup CEO was a unique and fulfilling experience, but my roots are in code. Learning a new tech stack makes me feel like a student again, with all the fun emotions and possibilities that brings.

I spent time figuring out what to do next with Lightforge. While Project ORCS is canceled, we're not done yet.

I can't seem to stop trying experimental games involving talking, so now I'm playing around with LLMs and how they can be utilized for new game experiences beyond just "NPCs talk better".

I moved! I now live in a sweet high rise in downtown Raleigh with a gorgeous view and a pretty cool community.

After everything that happened this spring with the company and my personal life, I took the summer off. This included fully disconnecting from social media and a full month abroad in Europe.

This was my first time doing something like that, and a really healing experience.
